  1. Here's some stuff I've been working on for your musical listening pleasure. Hate it, love it, whatever floats your boat My take on some popular tunes: (this one is an original)
  2. A hardware button on my Novation Impulse 61. I have tons of assignable MIDI commands of all types that can be assigned
  3. Another Question, I'm using Logic for my live work instead of Mainstage ( my Mainstage is incredibly unstable and ALWAYS freezes up, can't figure out why ) overall Logic works fine for what I need it to.. however I cannot figure out how to map it to change tracks or "patches" upon pressing a certain button. I have ProgramChange buttons that worked great in mainstage, however, can't figure out how to change my tracks in Logic. anyone know how? Thanks!
  4. OK, So I have the drawbars mapped to my MIDI keyboard for the Vintage B3 Organ. I also have my expression mapped to the volume pedal... So all in all it's a pretty realistic setup. However, when I record, it will record the expression changes, but it won't record the drawbar changes. Any way to change this? or will I have to reroute and record it as straight audio? ( I don't want to do that... it's a pain. )
  5. Also this has been happening in Logic when using programs like WavesTune... I've also had this issue when watching Videos in certain internet browsers... Anyone have any ideas? I'm at wits end and can't get ANY work done like this.
  6. I switched back to logic instead of mainstage and have had no issues... however I like mainstage's interface and routing all this stuff through logic has SUCKED. i noticed mainstage has random "power sucks" where it takes up 70% of my CPU in spikesl... don't know why but it could be whats causing the freeze.. dont believe it's overheating though. ALthough everytime I fire up mainstage the fan fires up on high as well.. seems that its really taxing my system?? although logic preforms fine
  7. It's important to note that the sound usually continues as well. as in, if I had a talkbox patch, I can still modulate sound and vibrato with my mod wheels, but it won't let me select different patches through MIDI commands... but different notes and everything will play. It sounds like a graphics issue?
  8. Mouse will still work.. but everything else freezes. Nothing is clickable, screen is completely locked up.. However mouse will still move freely.
  9. Hey guys, I recently started using Mainstage as my live rig for playing keys for gigs. However, I've been having SERIOUS issues where it constantly freezes. Forcing me to reboot the entire computer. It's gotten to the point where I can't even use it anymore it just freezes. This happened in both Mainstage 2 and 3. I recently rebooted my computer, and it seemed to be fine for awhile, however it is starting to freeze up again just as much as it did with Mainstage 2. I'm at my wits end and about to give up and just run my rigs off logic, but I love mainstages interface and how user friendly it is, but I can't stand that there is NO support with it and this issue seems to be a wide rampent issue with many people trying to use this software. any suggestions? Macbook 2011 Ram 12 GB Processor 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i5 Intel 3000HD integrated graphics card 128 SSD Apple drive my mac should be destroying everything it touches with some of the specs it has, so why does it constantly freeze on mainstage? is it a graphics issue or something more deep rooted? Thanks, Chet
  10. For some reason the MIDI environment isn't in my Logic pro window dropdown? you can see in the screenshots below that it isn't in the "Window" section where the help file says it's located http://i.imgur.com/Wg87ukh.png it also says you can bring it up pressing Command-8 (which is the way I always opened it) but it brings up project audio now instead? http://i.imgur.com/9cjrJPb.png if you could, could you make a short screenshare vid or something else to show me how to get to it? or maybe my logic is bugged? I'm putting off updating because of all the issues that came with updating the first time. Thanks,
  11. Can someone say Quiet Riot Influence? Seriously, I was THOROUGHLY impressed. I was NOT expecting that voice to come out of you! you can hit some crazy notes man, I wish I had a voice like that! That was great, a good mix and a good production .. yes the mix could use a bit of work but overall everything was able to be heard (except the bass, it was behind the mix but its a rock song so it doesn't need to be prominent) and I thought it was awesome got any more stuff??
  12. Hey guys, When using the drum kit designer and mapping it to my V-Drums.. everything else works great EXCEPT the fact that whether I hit the mid or low tom.. it still only plays the mid tom sample. I thought this was just an error with how the drumset was mapped on my V-Drum end, but even when I hit the low tom sample in the logic interface, it still plays the medium tom sample. However when I switch it back to GM it works fine? Is there a way to fix this? I was trying to find the Clicks & Ports section inside of Logic Pro X to reroute it that way, but I can't seem to find that either?? when I was running 10.0.1 it was where it always was, on the left top side of the mixer window, now I can't seem to find it and my help database as well as everything else I've scoured on google, I can't seem to find it either?? Also, I was curious, is there a way to create my own custom map inside of logic so I can fine tune everything between me and my TD-9? Any help is appreciated
  13. I use mainly Ivory II for all my pianos however, with an external drive at 7200 thru firewire.. it still often drops samples during playback which is annoying, usually only on sustained notes. its not a RAM issue I have 12 gigs can't speak for the other pianos because after I tried Ivory I never had a need for anything else, the samples are absolutely amazing! RAM isn't going to effect performance unless you are running multiple VSTi's at the same time. sometimes mine gets clogged up, so I just finish a track and bouce/replace it ... and/or freeze the tracks.
  14. I'm loving this a lot! great groove and feel and some cool ideas! SONG: one thing I would do is change up the chorus/verse sections a little bit, put in some substitute chords or different progressions at times to make some of the parts not seem so monotonous. Or you can always try taking away instruments / adding them at different points to always give it a feeling that something is always changing and different The chorus is super catchy, I have a feeling that hook is going to be in my head all day while I'm working the piano solo was a great touch, however I probably would have put some "Samba octave" riffs from the piano solo, but that's just personal taste =) the bridge walkdown from the root was nice, but a little expected. Maybe again substitute some chords, diminished 7th, sharp 6, jump around and make it interesting... but again, that's all just personal taste Mix: mix was awesome! the drums did feel a little lost toward the middle , mostly in kick and snare, those could stand to come up alot. bass sound was a little too MIDI sounding for me, but you work with what you've got, however I felt it could have hit a little bit lower, and the octaver on it was a nice touch, however it muddied up some of the sections, might want to automate those sections to clean them up a little. the end when you bumped up the end key change chorus a couple DB's was a great touch! made it feel all the more powerful! overall loved the song
  15. I'm really digging the slap back effect you have on there, it's icing on the LSD cake .. however I wouldn't have panned it hard left the whole song, maybe a bounce or a filter in between verses .. also I would cut the effect by about half of what you currently have it, as when its on the whole time at that level, it does become a bit cumbersome to the song. also, I'm not digging the bass in the right, and it is much to loud in the mix toward the second half, and the guitar seems to drop out in volume, I think this is what makes that 3rd of the root chord stick out more than usual that camillo mentioned. i would also bump up the elec guitar a little bit, its what is giving that song the acid trip feel, it needs to be prominent.. I wouldn't have it dead center like you did, I would swap it with the bass I am loving that jangly acoustic, fits the song perfectly I don't have a prob with the tambourine personally, it is slightly out of time at times yes, but the song has a more or less "freeing" feel to it, so the slight timing doesn't jump out to me.
