  1. Hmm. I'll try that. Maybe I was just too used to this workflow to even consider that. if I freeze cpu intensive tracks, can I bounce then frozen as well? I've noticed if I bounce when my cpu is high, the export isn't accurate to not DAW.
  2. I guess the best solution I have is to prioritize sidechaining to buses over individual tracks for convenience when reassigning those sidechain inputs. I'll probably actually just write all of my side chains down too.
  3. The music gods were trying to make your music as they saw fit...
  4. I assume automating the bypass of plug-ins saves cpu? But when I do this, I get audible clicks during playback when automating the bypass and it's also rarely accurate when cpu gets high. This leads me to just automating the mix parameter and just leaving the plug-in on the whole time. I do experience the same issues you speak of with bouncing (and even playback) not being accurate, but all of these issues only happen when cpu gets weird.
  5. ie. - I have track A sidechained to track B -I have track C sidechained to track A -i bounce track A and deactivate it to save cpu -now track C loses all of the sidechain info because it's not sidechained to the me bounced track. Now I have to manually change track C to sidechain to the newly bounced track. -I have DOZENS of plug-ins being so-called l sidechained in this delicate balance and It would be too tedious to manually take note and manually change the sidechain information (though it's an option). Is there a streamlined way to get all of these bounced tracks to automatically transfer the sidechain data ? It would help immensely.
  6. thank you all so much for the solutions. i will have to wait to try them out to see which one works the best, but i'll let you all know!
  7. I have a 2 track only. The mix lacks low end, so i'm trying to fill in the kick with a sub, but do not have the separate audio tracks. How do i get the kick in this track to trigger a gated sub? i know how to make something trigger through a gate based on volume, but can i trigger a gate based on frequency so i can only let that sub in when the kick thumps?
  8. wow welp......thanks for that so i don't rack my head trying to fix it lol. i'll have to downgrade to 10.7.4!!! i'll look about the changes between 10.7.4 and 10.7.7 later, but really just get so used to a workflow that i don't care unless it's something major. Thanks LPX family! here here! I was using multi-timbral instrument as well as aux tracks. All in favor of a downgrade? I. court adjourned.
  9. Will do when I can. Didn't have much time to before work, but planned on doing it. 30 minutes of music time turned into 30 minutes of technical difficulties!
  10. i have a multi timbral instrument (kontakt) routed into logic and all of the channels have the appropriate midi channels assigned and there is signal being received when i play these instruments. everything works fine when playing. however, when i record, the midi notes show in the midi region until i STOP recording, then the whole midi region just auto deletes. This happens for every single thing i record in this multi timbral instrument. I've looked up solutions on this issue and haven't found a solution. I've restarted my computer and everything. I've tried recording on other tracks and it works fine. all except this one. i'm on logic 10.7.8.
  11. i saw that response when i googled it too and it didn't help. i did have it set before the update where the playback would play 1/4 bar before or so. That's exactly how it worked, but idk how to revert it. if the "playback preroll" isn't the feature i'm looking to change, then where else can i change this feature?
  12. since i upgraded to 10.7.8, some of my settings have automatically changed. i am used to having the playback start 2 beats before where my locator is. Currently, the playback starts EXACTLY where my locator is which i don't like. I have the preroll box checked and i've checked/unchecked it many times, and have restarted my computer and it still doesn't work how i'd like it to. NOTE: This is for PLAYBACK preroll, not RECORDING preroll (which somehow works fine).
  13. So i read a comment saying that this may be the issue when right clicking on the stop button on the transport, and it's permanently checked on "stop and go on left locator". When i click it to uncheck it, it doesn't uncheck! It's literally stuck on this option and i don't know how to uncheck it. EDIT- i just had to click the "stop" option above the "stop and go to left locator".
  14. i even turned off all of these settings and idk what to do. ALSO i made SURE there is no marquee selection ANYWHERE in the arrangement, so it wouldn't affect playback. i'm genuinely confused and even restarted my computer. has something changed in the update or what?
  15. i just upgraded to logic pro 10.7.8 and have been having this issue where every single time, playback starts at wherever the greyed out (off) cycle bar is. whether it is on (yellow), or off (grey), playback ALWAYS starts there! how do i change this? I thought it was a bug, but it happens in every project and even new projects.
