  1. I am having difficulty record-arming multiple software instrument tracks. I have followed the steps described, but I can seldom arm all the tracks, as often, arming track 2 will disarm track 1 etc. I may get down 4 or 5 but then arming no 6 will disarm most the ones already armed.... I remember this (bug) from V8. - or am I missing something? I have several midi tracks each on their own midi channel, (auto demix on) and 1 audio track in this scenario. Thanks in advance
  2. Hi Again I am trying to completely automate generating bass notes on certain notes played on the flute. So for example I want to play 3 bars/ phrases on the flute each with say 8 notes per phrase/bar So I want the first note of the first phrase to generate and hold the first bass note, play the rest of the phrase/bar on the flute, and change and hold the base note for the second phrase. So the base note of the second phrase needs to be interpreted and used to send and trigger a Hold off message to the i2M for the first held note, and send a hold on, for the 2nd base note. I dont know if this is possible, or if there is a way to cause a delay between Logic sending the Hold off for the first note and a Hold on for the second. Sorry, I did not say that very elegantly, but let me know if you understand what I mean! I have almost been able to do this using the i2M (pitch to midi) and the SoftStep (10 pad midi foot controller) SS I have been able to have one note (the fist note of the next bar/phrase), trigger a Hold off for the previous bass note, and trigger a hold on, for the current bar/phrase, by trickery!. But it gets pretty complicated. Sending multiple Hold on/Hold off Program change and note messages (some transposed by i2M to avoid dup notes & re transposed in Logic) etc. Keeping track is a headache! I can also stop the sustain by stepping on the assigned SS pad at the precise time, but I want to be foot loose (n fancy free). I find coordinating precise foot stomping while playing the flute very difficult. I thought Logic may be able to do this, and did have the Transformer generating Hold messages using the keyboard in the Environment Click and port layer. Weird or whatever it was working. I couldn't get notes from the i2M to do this however, get to the (Transformer), but I could from the SS as well. I thought creating the Transformer track as instructed, (see prev posts) in the arrange window, would create the link needed. Can you transpose more than one note per transformer object, or must I use multiple, one for each note? I need to do this before the message gets to the arrange tracks. Thanks so much again PS. I thought SUM would always send all data on all channels, thanks for clearing that one up. movementheaven 2.zip
  3. I am still a little baffled. Why is nothing coming out the SUM port of the Physical Input from input from the i2M musicport, but does from the SoftStept Share ? Anything to do with the Transformer sending data to the i2M? And the monitor from the SoftStep shows the note C#,F#,A# etc while the monitor from the SUM shows 1 62 38 etc?
  4. Yes I set port & channel before I assigned track to Transformer. Tried the steps many times. Instrument seems always to be created as GM. What I did was to delete this and create a new instrument. I renamed this to "i2M. reassigned etc and hey presto it works. Looked at some great youtube tuts and have a better understanding of the Environment. Phew, great learning experience. For interest, the solo on the new Transformer track, doesn't seem to solo this track. I still get my audio and midi? Thanks again, you guys are awesome.
  5. So can you please help me figure out to get this midi instrument and Transformer to work. Thanks
  6. Apologies, was getting messy with my experimenting, trying to figure how this stuff works. I removed one Transformer. PS How do I get rid of the Ornament? Thanks
  7. I cannot get anything coming into the transform? Thanks
  8. Thanks, but my Transformer object looks like this - Logic 8 . I do not understand this Data Byte stuff? Thanks
  9. Can you program logic somewhere to send a midi message (Hold Off) to a connected midi device (i2M) when a certain input midi note is detected? Thanks
  10. I'm talking about the Physical Input . I thought the little triangles from top to bottom would correspond to Ports - Sum 1 2 3 etc, but each triangle relates to the label written alternately on left and right . So from top, SUM is 1st triangle, I2m is 2nd, Port 1 is 3rd, Port 2 is 4th, Softstep 5th, Keyboard 6th. This had me confused at first. !!! P S what is Port 1 and Port 2. (May be from the softstep that has 3 Ports, Softshare sscom1 sscom2) I have much to learn about Midi.... Thanks again
  11. Yep I see ... told you I was a beginner at this! However in this shot, I have 2 midi controllers connected Softstep Port 1, and i2M Port2. However the i2M seems to be working on Port 1, and the Softstep only works on Port 4. What's going on here??? Unless each triangle does not correspond to Sum 1 2 3 4 for each triangle from the top going down ? Maybe I'm not reading this correctly? Thanks
  12. Thanks Jordito I figured it out cool Thank you again!!!
  13. Ok thanks Ill try this. Then when it comes to other objects (I want a chord memoriser and a arpeggiator. Do I need to connect these new tracks the same way, and will the auto demix switch, still have no effect in this routing setup? Thanks so musch again. Paul
  14. Thanks Jordito, but Im a beginner, can you please give a brief explanation of how to do this. With Sequencer input or Physical input??? I am using 2 midi sources, softstep and i2M. Much appreciated!!
