  1. I had the same problem when i updated. It wasn't to do with input monitor or software monitoring or [R] button r any of the settings in prefs. It was "AUTO INPUT MONITOR" which had to be shown first in the buttons to remove it. To show, right click on the grey to the right of the transport and choose customize, then you can show auto input monitor to remove it..
  2. @ Paul christo & volovicg Unfortunately not, if you look at my original post, some keyboards, send note off messages with different velocity values. @ David Nahmani Do you mean just post the same exact file in that forum?
  3. So here it is. I will never get those hours of my life back note off parse environment.logicx.zip
  4. Ha, dunno really, I just don't like the idea of not having complete control if i want it! Might be fun to have note off's play a release sample or some such. So i'm making that macro now. I'll post it up when it's done
  5. Oh yeah... Of course, I didn't think of that I suppose you could make a macro which separated every single note then performed the alternating splits individually then rejoin the note ons and offs. Yes i realise this is getting a bit silly now, but in theory it's possible
  6. I see. Thankyou david. Actually for anyone else interested and reading this, I've thought of a way to single out note off messages: Create a transformer which filters out everything but note info. Pass that on to a transformer set to 'alternating split' Now you get note on from one outlet and note off from the other, that means you've separated note off messages and can now perform any required transformations on them
  7. Ok Thanks David. Just out of interest, what do you think is causing the different velocity values in the note off messages shown on my environment monitor. For example, the last two messages in the picture show: Note ON C4 velocity=91 then Note OFF C4 velocity=124 How does one release a key with different velocities? Where does this number come from? Cheers
  8. I may be wrong, but in my memory, Logic thinks of note off messages as note messages but with velocity equal to zero. I'm trying to create a condition in the environment window to find note off messages coming in from my keyboard, but for some reason, they seem to now be all types of velocity. Because i cannot set the message type to 'note off', I don't know how i can set conditions to find note off messages. Any ideas?
  9. Hi All. If i'm using the desk to send monitor cues pre-tape, should i have latency compensation turned off ? Because it seems that if logic thinks i'm hearing the sound late and is therefore compensating with my recorded track, but i'm actually hearing bang on then it's not going to line up. I think i've experienced this trying to overdub really time specific stuff like shaker. Does anyone else work like this? Cheers
  10. Can i wake this up from 7 years ago please. This is exactly what i'm looking for. A way to export a file that splits by transient markers as a batch convert. That way i can open it in Kontakt not EXS24 which is a bit limited as a sampler. Cheers
  11. Using nudge in logic x seems simple enough. Insert a nudge value, then click left or right and the selected region moves left or right by that value... except... can someone else try this and see if they get the same odd results. Put a region on an obvious line, use nudge set to 10ms and move it right. Change nudge value to 1ms and move it left ten times. If it's the same as mine, you're way to the left of where you started. How can this be? Surely 10ms should be the same as 10 x 1ms
  12. I find markers a bit weird to work with, wondering if i'm using them in the wrong way... When i create a marker, logic makes an infinitely long marker with no end point. I don't find this particularly useful as i generally want to mark a section. The way i get around this is to click a region and create marker from region, i then resize and rename. This is ok, but a bit slow with the workflow. Sometimes it means making a new instrument track and region just to make a marker. So what am i doing wrong? Why does logic want to make these infinitely long markers overlapping each other? Why are they useful? cheers
  13. Hey mr zee. Sorry, never saw this reply. No, you don't have to change track because you use an input channel in the environment window, which is permanently fixed, and because the muting is done via MIDI, it works regardless of track selection
  14. Hi All I've got a loop, i'm confident that i've cut it well at the beginning and the end of the bar. I want to put flex markers at either end of the loop. So i can stretch it while retaining the feel within the loop (not quantise beats). It's really tricky to put flex markers right at the edges, but even after doing that they seem to disappear, so i can't drag out or reduce the audio. I don't want to use the 'time stretch to locators', because i want the pitch to change with it, and flex gives me that option. Any suggestions? I used to do this so easily on my old akai :-/
