  1. My god I've been trying to solve this for so long. So many solutions out there but this finally worked. Thanks Eric!!
  2. Thanks! That site is a gem. Are there others like it? How to find such sites on Google?
  3. I'm stumped. I just don't know how to find songs, either Logic projects or raw recordings, for practicing mixing. Can anyone help? I'm sure people share their band's raw recordings for such purposes. Even websites that let musicians post their songs on for someone to mix for them for a fee would help. I just don't know what kind of sentences to search. Tried many things. Please help.
  4. Alright now how do you get rid of Aux tracks from arrangement view?
  5. I totally get that! I'm as noob as a monkey on a keyboard, but I already get that
  6. Thanks Mr. Silver . Any examples of such volume control devices?
  7. Now I'm even more confused. According to the video (link below) we should be using a compressor instead of a limiter to protect speakers? Please help me understand.
  8. I'm still confused. Can't figure out exactly how the Limiter thing should be set. And which one to use? Adaptive Limiter or the one simply called Limiter? See screenshot: http://s7.postimage.org/xwf9kjpvv/Screenshot_2012_12_07_5_26_PM_2.jpg
  9. Is there a plug-in with say, 4 LEDs, like traffic light but horizontal? I once saw a drummer using something like that. First LED is either bigger or a different colour. Sound metronomes are useless and very annoying I find.
  10. Thanks Edgar! I just setup a very minimal home studio and currently going thru a LOT of manuals, youtube vids and other texts. Couldn't find a solution for this particular issue anywhere. I just wanted to keep on safely playing with synths as I learn. I'll just use this Limiter while poking the synths. Once I find a sound I like, I can remove the limiter so the whole project don't suffer.
  11. Thanks for the reply! I don't exactly know what happens. My speakers are never over 50% and my Macbook is set at maybe 40%. Problem is when I was switching different type of waveforms and other things, at some setting the synth just got so loud. I figure this should be happening to everyone and there should be a common way people handle this to save speakers. Could you tell me exactly which plug-in in Logic 9 is commonly used to handle this issue? And maybe at what settings also?
  12. Hi folks, a very newbie question here. I was experimenting with a synth and at one point i clicked something and the volume went real high, it almost blew my speakers. I want to put some kind of volume limiter thing on the master channel so this doesn't happen, like volume never goes beyond certain db? How do I do that? Very afraid to play with synths now.
  13. Pretty good advice. But it itches most of the times when an update is available. This project not opening just happened to me for no reason. Then it suddenly started loading. As if I'm using Windows.
  14. I'm back with a solution! You won't believe how easily you can solve this. You will actually find better results if you google "Logic Pro midi port not present" instead of specifying the A-Pro. Since this is the only relevant result that pops up when using the "A-Pro" term. I think a lot others might stumble here first. Solution: In Logic go to Preferences > Control Surfaces > Setup.. Then delete the entry for your A-Pro keyboard using "Edit" drop down menu. Then click the "New" menu and click Scan All Models. This bit is optional. On the left column, at the top, make sure "Output Port:" shows A-Pro and "Input Port:" shows A-Pro 2. Now everything works!
