  1. Thanks David - I can do your suggested, but it was more about what happened to the automatic controls? Is the new Controller too old of a model? If so, why did the previous, older model work no problem? It should have been plug and play, as it was with the previous model...
  2. I had to buy a new M-Audio Oxygen 49 MKV - my older version started fritzing (Oxygen 49). I can use the new controller for assignments etc no problem. However, while the original controller would easily sync with the Smart Controls, for whatever reason, the new one will not. I've tried multiple Control Surface Setups, but nothing works - I followed M-Audio's own suggestions, but no good - https://inmusic.my.site.com/maudio/s/article/M-Audio-Oxygen-MKV-Series-Setup-in-Logic I'm not a fan of deleting the Control Surface preferences file if I don't have to, are there any workarounds/suggestions? It should be so easy, not sure why it's not....
  3. Affirmative, thank you. Quick question David - can you offer any links re: Logic Pro's Controller Assignment window that really explain in great detail the whole right side of Expert view? (Controller Assignment Parameters, MIDI Input Message, and Value areas in particular.) I realize there is the Logic Pro instructions, but they are very thin in actual demos - I've found a video or two that try to explain, but they really just suffer thru trying to fig it all out on video, so I don't learn much...
  4. Just realized it was indeed Touch vs Latch. Duh. Thank you JakobP, and David....
  5. I'm using Cmd-L.... I touch a plugin's control, press Cmd-L, move FCB footpedal, press Cmd-L again to prevent any weirdness. Rinse and repeat. Please see screenshot as example. As you can see, barely anything going on. Essentially, when the problem gets going, whatever I do (either press a pedal to bypass on/off, or an move expression pedal), the signal flips shortly after (I bypass the delay, it turns on again a second later....or I depress the expression pedal to make the feedback stop, and it comes back to full a second later. Earlier I had mentioned this only happened when in Touch or Latch mode, but it was happening this AM in Read mode too, so I deleted all Automation on the track, and that fixed it. So it's definitely Touch/Latch that instigates the odd behavior. I tried restarting the FCB1010, replugged in everything, same issues. Is there something going on between the FCB and the Value area of the Controller Assignments window? In particular, the Format and/or Mode? The MIDI Monitor doesn't show any random signal spikes, so I can't think of anything else....
  6. Both do this. In Read mode, all good. Computer too slow?
  7. I should mention - this also happens with the expression pedals (jumping from max to min suddenly)
  8. I've got my FCB1010 MIDI foot controller's 2 expression pedals controlling Valhalla Vintage Verb's decay, and Baby Audio's Comeback Kid's feedback, as well as two pedals controlling the bypasses for each plugin. Works great when I play along with drummer. When I try to record the audio with Latch or Touch turned on to get the midi data from the FCB1010 while I play, all holy hell breaks loose. While recording, when I turn a bypass on, it turns off a few beats later. Then a bit more random on/off, then settles into on, after about 30 seconds-ish. Particularly the Comeback Kid. Such strange behavior....I've tried everything - deleting the plugins, deleting the track, deleting the automation - MIDI Monitor shows nothing/no problems. Again, plays great when not recording the MIDI, only that triggers madness. Any suggestions? Thanks
  9. Howdy I got this from Apple's Remix FX in Logic Pro for Mac website - https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/logicpro/lgcpe9906785/mac "You can also control the XY pads and other parameters with MIDI controllers, assigned with Smart Controls. See Smart Controls overview." I've got my Korg NanoPad 2 plugged in, all good, used it with Alchemy, works great. But I can't find any way for Smart Controls to recognize the Nanopad2/Remix FX connection, if that makes sense, and using Quick Learn automation only turns on each respective device within Remix FX, but doesn't actually control the "sweep" thru the XY parts of Remix FX, even tho automation offers the full suite of movement. Can anyone please suggest how to control Remix FX's XY pads with my Korg NanoPad 2? Thank you
  10. Those are both great replies, thank you...very helpful.
  11. I will chew on this, thank you
  12. Nope. I'd see that traffic is coming in fine, but Logic Pro can't receive some of it. I'd rather just assume the multiple hub thing is the problem, and was hoping for solutions around that. My mind lays in the idea that the MIDI signal is taking too long to get to the computer thru the 2 hubs, so I was hoping for suggestions on better hubs etc. I've looked and looked, haven't found anything yet.
  13. Funky, as in, on my Novation Launch Control, the knobs will work, but the pads will stop working. Or my Oxygen 49 will stop controlling Smart Controls, and I'll have to replug the usb back in. Seems like when the comp gets hot, I have to replug the midi devices' usb's in too often, until I have to reboot overall, hence my desire to refine my setup. As for MIDI signals - each controller is on it's own midi channel, but each track is set to receive all. I just haven't tweaked that aspect yet (set to match). I watch everything on MIDI Monitor, and everything LOOKS fine...
