  1. Hi everyone, A lot of audio and midi regions are playing twice as loud (or more) than they should be. On investigation of these regions, there's at least one duplicate audio or midi copy hidden behind it. When I move the region on show, I can then see that there's a copy/copies behind it. Once I've deleted the copies, then it plays as it should at normal volume. As you can imagine this makes mixing very difficult, and now I'm paranoid that there are a lot of regions in my arrange which have duplicates that I don't know of. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks a lot!
  2. I'm having big problems with this too. Does anyone know of any fix? Logic will often suddenly start to initialise core audio, sometimes completely randomly, but usually when I do something like create a new track stack or open automation. With Kontakt instances especially, it then can take up to 3 minutes to reinitialise and re-load all samples again. I'm using Logic 10.2
  3. Hi all, I'm using Logic Pro X 10.1.1. My projects will often crash. I'll open them back up, going with the "revert to auto-saved" option, and I'll often find an instrument plugin or effect has been reset to default. This includes synth patches, compressor settings etc. This is terrible, spending hours tweaking a project, it crashes, then you lose something that you've worked on. The worst bit about it is, it's sometimes hard to notice what's been reset. If a compressor has been reset somewhere, it may be hard to notice. Please, any suggestions on how to fix this will be really appreciated! Thanks.
  4. I'm seeing this exact issue still, especially on bigger projects. Usually happens when I make an undo, or sometimes just randomly the loading wheel will come on and it will initialise core audio again. I use at least one instance of Kontakt on all my projects. When core audio initialises, the grey box comes up from Kontakt to re-load the audio files. Very annoying when I have a few Kontakt instruments, takes a long time!
  5. Hi everyone. When I solo a muted track, and then un-solo it it automatically un-mutes itself. Is there a way that you can solo/preview a muted track and then un-solo it without it un-muting? Thanks a lot!
  6. Hi all, I have a channel strip setting I want to save which has a send on it. Is it possible to save a channel strip setting to open on other projects in the future and include the send? Everytime i save a channel strip it does not save the send, only the instrument and inserts. Thanks a lot!
  7. I have a 2013 macbook 15' retina with 16GB RAM and 2.7GHz Quad-core. I doubt this is a computer performance issue, neither the CPU or HD bar is peaking.
  8. Hi all, When working with large projects in Logic Pro X (around 100 tracks, mainly software instruments etc.) problems start to occur. A couple of the major problems include: 1. the playhead been in front of the actual sound (e.g. sound at bar 5 beat 1 but playhead at bar 5 beat 2) 2. automation occurs too late (e.g. volume automation from 0db to silence at bar 5 beat 1 won't happen until bar 5 beat 2). This is very annoying as time spent on intricate detail with automation suddenly doesn't count anymore. Does anyone know how to fix these annoying issues? I find myself struggling to finish the projects because of this... Thanks a lot!
  9. Hello all, I am often working with large project files, and all the tracks and busses are eventually sent to the default Output. However, I sometimes want to apply effects such as filters to the output, and I also want to use the Output for my master chain. So, what I want to do is create a new output to send all tracks and busses to before the chain reaches the default Output, which will be reserved for my mastering chain. My question is, what is the easiest way to go about creating a new output? Is it to create an Aux track and manually assign the output of all my tracks (including bus tracks) to the new Aux track (which will then be sent to the default Output), or is there a way to create a new output that can be assigned to go after the default Output in the signal chain? Thanks, and I hope this makes sense!
  10. Thanks for the reply! Well at least you can do that, I guess it'll take a while to adapt the way I use my aux tracks to this new Stack feature.
  11. Hello all, Logic Pro X question here... I've just spent the last hour re-organising all my bus sends. I 'stacked' together some tracks that were already going to a bus and not the stereo out, so basically it all turned into a right mess as when you stack tracks their existing bus output is overwritten with a new one. I was wondering whether it possible to have your existing aux track become the 'track stack' track in the arrange window? Hope this makes sense... Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the reply! Yeah, of course portability is ideal and practical. It's just the fact the Mac Mini is so much cheaper for almost the same amount of power, very confusing decision to make! Is it possible to upgrade CPU on the non retina? And would duel SSD drives benefit how the macbook can cope running the logic projects?
  13. Hello all, Thanks in advance for reading this and helping me out! I've been needing a new mac for production for a while now. I'm currently using a late 2009 MacBook (2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8 GB RAM installed). My projects, even with all CPU-saving methods such as I/O Buffer Size as high as possible and all effects on Bus channels, are CPU-overloading to the point I cannot play them. That said, my projects are 100+ tracks with a lot of software instruments and plug ins been used. So I need to get a new mac, powerful enough that I won't experience any of these problems. I was expecting apple to update the MacBook Pro's to haswell, but they didn't. So I've been debating over: a Mac Mini (2.6GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, with 16GB Ram) - http://store.apple.com/uk/configure/MD388B/A? or a top spec MacBook Pro 15 inch with Retina (2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz, 16GB Ram). Bear in mind the MacBook has flash storage, but I don't really know if this well help speed up CPU-hungry projects. - http://store.apple.com/uk/configure/ME665B/A? I travel a lot, so obviously the MacBook would be ideal (if it can run the projects with no problems). However, I could compromise with the Mac Mini as it can fit into a suitcase and it is over £1500 cheaper! (for you non-UK, over $2500 dollars cheaper!) What would you advise I do? Will both of them be able to run the projects OK? Would the MacBook Pro run the projects with more CPU to save (or vice versa)? Or would you advise a different mac to the two I mentioned? Thank you!
  14. Hello all, I want to copy a section from a track to later on, I guess you could call it the chorus section. This section of the track however includes automation on a few bus tracks. Each bus track is automating more than one parameter, therefore making things time consuming and difficult to manually copy the automation for each parameter, paste and repeat. I referred to this thread (viewtopic.php?t=55806) but this method does not copy the automation from the bus tracks. Any solutions? Thanks!
  15. Thanks for your time, I'll have another mess around with it. Sorry about the 2 space designers, I only needed one of them, just got rid of it now.
