  1. It works perfectly! Thank you so much - amazing how just thinking about it a little differently can bring the solution - I appreciate the input guys! happy days!
  2. I think using it like you've suggested would be a solution - I hadn't thought of having the main window smaller and the score window in a seperate window - without being constatnly covered up by the main window each time I click pretty mush anything. I'll give this a go but I think it will work thanks for the idea!!! I report back
  3. I'm on High Sierra - my imac is a 2011 model so it seems I can't update the OS to Catalina anyway... I'll have a look if afloat or pinup can help - thanks for the tip!
  4. yeah - I thought there might be a workaround if one uses a floating window?! I guess not though - unless anyone else chimes in with a solution
  5. Thanks for the input! Fuzzfilth - the behavior in your gif is what I'd expect when unlinking the region as you've done - However the view doesn't behave like that for me, the content changes regardless of the the track type I select
  6. I'd prefer to go with the extended pane from the main area... but am willing to explore other options. like forcing a floating window to stay 'on top' / visible. Of course at the moment a floating window disappears as soon as I click anything
  7. yes I have - it still changes - thanks though
  8. Hi - I'm looking for a way to lock my score window/view to my selected track so I can read the notation while recording my mic on another track. Problem is every time I select anything else, the window changes to view whatever I've click - helpful in about every other situation, but not this... I've tried using a screenset but it's not ideal... I cant imagine there isn't an obvious solution to this - I'm just not seeing it. Any help would be great! Thanks LPX 10.4.8
  9. This is a new concept to me. Many thanks, I will explore....
  10. I hope you can see everything necessary here? the first one sounds open and the second sounds closed... i swear
  11. Can anyone explain how to trigger open hi hats in a drummer track that I have converted to midi. Here's what I have done as a test. I loaded the default drummer instrument. Then I convert that to midi. I then identify a piece of the drummer track that plays an open hi hat and I delete everything else in the midi region (ie kick, snare etc) until I'm left with only two notes both Bb1 (the default for open hats). if I play that back - one sounds closed and one sound open. If I look at the events list there is no difference between the 2. Changing the velocity makes no difference... What is telling the one to play open and the other to play closed? Can anyone explain what is happening here ? thanks!
  12. Great - I've done as you suggested - hope I've saved it out correctly?!
