Hi there Alessandro, first of all let me say that I'm proud to see an Italian here on this board! Secondly I'd like to know when did you start to work with Logic and what kind of "evolution" are you having with it (I mean, how did you start? how many synthetizers? what did you add [or remove?] etc.)
  2. Yeah, I didn't mean to say it was a sound and actually Logic's AUs let you set polyphony's notes, I was probably milseading something while listening to their tracks Thanks man, you gave me a lot of information I'll try to see if I can find some second-hand goods on Ebay Again, thank you so much
  3. Well a lot of friends uses polyphony for their works and the final results is quite great, so i've been probably misleaded Why do you spot for a R3 or a MS2000? Have they got a different engine inside? Sorry mate, I know my questions are stupid but I would like to know more before doing this "investment"
  4. Whoa, that was a fantastic comparison! Thank you very much! Really interested in XL's polyphony because it will sound probably more "professional" but I suppose it could be the same for the classic one if I set the right eq etc. Yes you're right: I'll be more specific by posting a little clip of a track I'm trying to create: https://soundcloud.com/micheleferrucci/sabotage-clip
  5. Hi guys, wondering what will you suggest me to buy because I've read a lot about these two great machines but I'm still confused... I know that XL will be easer to connect to my laptop and "probably" (that's what I've read in some forums actually)the classic version will sound perfect for techno-music's sounds. What do you think about?
  6. I've heard a lot of great productions in this section so far and this one won't be probably your cup of tea but.. here it is some old-style techno music I really need some suggestion for my synth.. I was actually thinking that since kick's low frequencies are quite strong in all the arrange, I thought I didn't really need a "bass" ... all opinions are welcome! https://soundcloud.com/micheleferrucci/klodeluis
  7. I know this is an old topic but since I didn't want to bother anyone with a new topic, I thought I could find something out by searching on the board but I wasn't able to find the right answer for me Well, yesterday I've met a friend and I've a tried his MicroKorg. Felt immediately in love with its sounds and its simplicity so I was thinking: "Should I buy one too?" But then I've tried to search a lot of info about how to connect a Microkorg to Logic Pro and I'm still confused: do I need something extra like a sound card? How do you basically connect it to your Mac?
  8. I was wondering if there's any way to turn unison mode on or off via automation and if this technique could sound good or not professional.. I was thinking to give some extra-voices to my main-synth during a long pause
  9. Whoa, that's a great solution mate, thank you so much! Since I'm trying to create a techno-track, I was thinking to put a compressor on my kick's instrument channel and side-chain it with a bus, and this is absolutely a great solution! Thank yo so much for your help and your kindness edit:I was finally able to get what I wanted thanks to your tip! Thank you so much! https://soundcloud.com/micheleferrucci/prove-k-lodiane
  10. All right! That makes sense! Sorry mate, I was really curious to understand it and your explanation was simple and great thank you! If you don't mind, I would like to ask you another question: I was trying to use several instrument channels with all drums (Instrument 1 = Kick, Instrument 2 = Snare etc.) and then send them all to a bus where i'm going to make a proper master for the drums' part. I would like to create a typical pumping bass with my kick (since it's really techno-style, really full of low-frequencies!) but I don't really get how-to, since compressor won't recognize my kick (made with a EXS24) as an audio file. Sorry if I'm bothering you with all of these dummie's question a little example could be heard in the final part of this draft: https://soundcloud.com/micheleferrucci/prove-k-lodiane
  11. first of all thank you so much for your reply I'm actually just "studying" so i'm not achieving anything right now, I was just wondering why I should send compressor's signal on a mute bus I've always used sidechain in order to get a "pumping" bass on my kicks, that's why I'm a bit confused
  12. Hey guys, I've recently started to read David's book + trying to study as much as I can on Youtube (even if my work makes me really busy ) Anyway, in these days I've watched a lot of videos about sidechain and most of them have different techniques: just wondering what's the differences between, for example, sidechaining a bass on a kick and sending it to a mute bus? for example, in the first case I can hear a pumping kick "embraced" by its bass but in the second case (i'm a newbie, I know) I don't really get what kind of result I should get Ehm sorry again for my terrible English, hope it was at least understandable
  13. ..actually I need some suggestions from you Hi there, I'm Michele and I'm from Italy. After probably 3-4 years I am back in this community (I don't even remember my last nickname, sorry) because .. had a lot of work to do and unfortunately no time for Logic, productions and so on. Then recently I've had a Maschine for my birthday (I should marry this girl, seriously!) but instead of trying this new machine with its native software, I've tried to integrate it with Logic and bam!, here we are again with my unforgottable deep love for this amazing DAW! The point is: it has been 3 years since I worked on Logic for the last time and now I've seriously forgot everything about it: shortcuts, windows and even basic things like sidechain and so son. 3 years ago this forum was almost like a Bible for me since it was full of great tips and now I wanted just to know..if you think I should buy David's book in order to be able to make up for all this lost time and to get a proper knowledge of Logic or if you think it's just a waste of time for a newbie like me, since I'm not a professional producer and I do not own anything like powerful speakers etc. Sorry for the long topic and for the horrible English (I should study more, shouldn't I? ) but I hope my silly question won't bother you Have a nice day everybody
