  1. AH-A! You solved it!!! At first I was like, huh? But now I see - Patch library, full audio FX; channel strip library, audio FX are split! You're amazing, thanks!
  2. Aggh and you went to all that trouble!! Thanks anyway. I wish it was as simple as Logic but unfortunately whether it's patch or channel strip it still seems to "split up" the instrument, forcing you to choose one aspect....
  3. hey there smart people, So I have a feeling there's a simple answer to this, but I'm not getting it. Why is it sometimes when I select software instruments, at the patch or set level, I get them "split" into their various levels ("delay", "reverb" "sum"), none of which have any full audio FX or sends, and I can ONLY choose one, but then other times when I pick a software instrument they all magically appear, plus the bus sends, on one channel strip, with no need to choose? Wot the hell am I missing? I can't figure out the pattern... Cheers, and thanks in advance....
  4. sorry - yes, I was confused, thought you meant like in the piano roll or something! Yes, I'm dragging it to the bottom of the workspace and creating a new track. thanks.
  5. Hey there, thanks for the response and sorry for the delay. I've made sure I've downloaded all additional content, etc and I'm dragging them to a new track, just as I do with other audio loops, not the bottom of the workspace or anything like that. All other loops play in the arrange window just fine. It's very bizarre... for example: Echo Electric Piano 02 - plays in loop window, does not play in arrange window Echo Electric Piano 03 - plays in both loop and arrange window just fine.
  6. hey there! Weird sitch...some green audio Apple loops, when dragged to the arrange window (to a new track, obv) play just fine. But the majority of them won't make a sound when dragged to the arrange window - I solo them, adjust volume, etc but no dice. I see the bars go up/down in the inspector, but nothing plays. I'd think it was something on my end if it was ALL the green loops, but it's just 75-80% of them. Never had this issue in Logic 9. Anyone else having this issue? cheers, Clare
  7. Just wanted to say thanks so much for this - I was panicking because I couldn't get my loops to re-index, no matter how many times I dragged it to the loops browser, until i read your post - now it works! THANK YOU!!!!!
  8. David - thanks so much - super helpful. I followed your instructions - I also heard back from Focusrite and I had to download a newer version of their driver (needed firmware installed.) Now it works great! Thanks again.
  9. hi there - please be gentle, I'm a Logic newbie! Just got my first audio interface, Focusrite Scarlett 8i6. Everything is connected, the Yamaha keyboard to the interface, usb to the Mac Mini, etc. When I open Logic I can see that everything is responding properly (i.e., in Preferences Scarlett 8i6 is selected, when I play notes on the keyboard I see it reflected in the Transport bar display. )But, I get NO SOUND. Now, this is where I THINK the problem may lie, but do not know how to fix: In the Audio Midi Setup page, all the volume settings are all at zero - and won't let me turn them up. I should mention that I use crappy Logictech computer speakers that connect via a headphone jack. Audio Midi setup gives me the option to "configure my speakers" but it's for left and right speakers - I'm unable to configure because there's only one cord, the headphone cord/jack. I'm asking you Logic brainiacs because I can't seem to get a response (via email or phone) from Focusrite - does anyone know, do I need to buy $$ speakers in order to get my audio interface to work properly? My goal was to just use my headphones (better/pricier than the Logictech) until I was ready to mix/master. Many thanks in advance for your assistance with this!
