  1. That option is not showing, just these; Guessing, uncheck play from cycle. Yup, that's the one. Thanks, that is very helpful.
  2. How do I take control of the playhead and stop it starting from bar 0? I want it to start where I put it in the midi editor. Just coming back to Logic after a long break, so may be asking a few basic questions as I try to re-learn. Sorted, had the loop bar on.
  3. On the cusp of update past Mojave. Does anyone know of a way to scan my plugins to discover what’s what. One suggestion was to open Logic in 32bit mode, but as far as I can tell this is not possible. I am hoping there is some kind of command I can use, or an app of some sort.
  4. Is there a straight-forward way to ascertain what is 32 bit only? Or is one by one?
  5. Hi, is there any major benefit in upgrading past Mojave on my machine? (Spec in sig) I have resisted so far, but maybe it’s time.
  6. Wow this was a while ago now. I had an SSD put in the SuperDrive bay on that machine. I took it to a tech who replaced the power supply and it made no difference. So I had him yank my SSD and I continued to use it in target display mode for a bit. One day I tried the put drives to sleep setting and lo and behold it was fine. It must have been that extra drive. By this time I had replaced it anyway, so I sold it on.
  7. All good now, I am back in control of the plugins. Still have some house work to do, but the main offenders are gone. Thanks for the help.
  8. Hang on... think I've found em... Some work to do. thanks. I will report back.
  9. That's the user library. You should double click the hard drive on go to library/audio/plugins/components. They're all there. That folder is empty too, at least it was. I placed a new folder named Test in it. This new folder appears in the components folder accessed via the path I described, and the path you describe, leading me to believe they are the same folder. If I go into System/library/audio, there is no plugins folder, only one called Tunings. there is a components folder lower down but no relevant files appear there.
  10. I deleted all the components from the folder in library. library/audio/plugins/components. I am not sure which library this is (accessed via go+alt), but I can't find another. I am on Mojave.
  11. I have some troublesome plugins that will not delete. I have deselected them in the plugin manager and removed them from the components folder in Library. They still appear. I have removed all from the components folder. (it is now empty) all still present. When I right click on a selected plug in in manager the colour changes from solid blue to a blue surround, and the remove button is greyed out. Any ideas on how I can clean this up?
  12. Having changed machine and moved files hither and thither I am finally back up and running, or so I thought. My plug in manager shows lots of plugins that do not appear when I look for them on a channel strip, and the components folder is empty! I have moved content to an external drive. There is a Library folder there, but no plugins, other than native ones. Not sure where to start.
  13. Well , thanks everyone for all the help and advice. I eventually went for a 2014 iMac 27. It's an 4.0Ghz i7 with 32 GB ram, 512 SSD, has great geek bench scores and a 5k monitor as a bonus. I am now wrestling with cables as my AI is firewire, as is my external drive. Hopefully should be up and running soon. it would have helped if my TimeMachine drive had not decided to die just as I was going to transfer some files.
  14. Update. The machine still blows fuses, but only when coming out of stand by. It is not a fault with the power supply. The current is definitely coming out of the machine and blowing the first fuse it encounters. It does not blow when the display wakes. It functions fine apart from this. Consensus is the fault is on the logic board. I am fund raising for a replacement machine and have had two strong pledges from pals already. Thanks for all the help and advice on this rather odd fault. Francis
