Hello everyone. I am having an unusual amount of full on hard crashes and GUI issues in Logic 10.1.1 as of late. As just one example, I had just opened the audio waveform editor in Logic to edit a wave file and BOOM crash. Stuff is happening a lot. I just bought a brand new Mac Pro with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB Flash HD. The machine itself really couldn't be any faster. I have external Thunderbolt HDs and a brand new clean install of OS X 10.10.2 My audio interface is a UA Apollo Thunderbolt
I really am at a loss, and I am actually an Apple tech. I know right lol. A lot of 3rd party plugins seem to be the culprit, like Slate plugins, Melodyne, Fabfilter, etc... Apple seems to be going backwards in stability with 3rd party plugs...? I was hoping that someone could chime in and give me some advice. I have done all the usual troubleshooting, clean install, latest plugins, trimming the fat in the OS, NVRAM reset, SMC reset, clear cache, clear prefs, nothing running in the background, etc, etc... My Mac Pro obviously came with Yosemite installed, but can run Mavericks, should I go backwards? I hate to do that, only because I believe in moving forward and eventually all 3rd party devs will have to get their acts together with their code and get things stable and solid on Yosemite, then at that point I am going to have to move forward anyway. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
