  1. Thanks a lot for following up on this, likely you are right about the reply due to the holiday season. Please let me know if you hear anything in return Happy new year Fotis
  2. Hey thanks a lot for your reply. When you say "Save Patch", I assume you mean saving the preset to the library with the channel strip? I completely agree with you. I know that Reveal Sound are currently developing a better preset manager, but even so, I'd still prefer to manage my presets across all plugins using Logic's native system which I find perfect for my needs and extremely consistent and fast. If you have some time and can also bug Reveal Sound, that would be great. The more noise we make, the more likely they are to fix the issue for us I hope. Have a great holiday break! Fotis
  3. Have you tried my suggestion? Yes I have. I tried saving presets in the native Spire preset format (*.spf), loading those and then immediately trying to save those in Logic as presets but there's no change.
  4. Thanks for your reply. Spire is the name of the synth and the company that makes it is called Reveal Sound. It's a very very popular synth in EDM production. I'm not converting presets. I simply open Spire, program a preset myself and then save the preset using Logic's preset browser. However, it simply won't load what I saved. This works absolutely perfect for all my other plugins, only Spire is broken. So hoping others have the same problem and maybe have a workaround or solution? As mentioned above, the company seems unwilling to repair this ... not sure why.
  5. Hey guys, hope you're all doing great. I'm running the latest version of Logic Pro X and Spire 1.1 (fully licensed of course, no dodgy stuff on my system). I've recently been saving various presets in Logic's native aupreset format as I find it easier to deal with the unified preset browsing experience in Logic instead of dealing with so many preset managers on their quirks. All my presets for the many plugins I own load and save perfectly but Spire 1.1 doesn't seem to like aupresets. Funnily enough, Spire 1.0 works fine. I contacted Reveal Sound about this and they don't seem to be interested in fixing the problem stating that I should be using their built-in preset manager. Is anyone experiencing the same problem and have you found any sort of workaround? Cheers Fotis
  6. Thanks guys. I tried to go with a Thunderbolt interface thinking that it indeed would avoid such issues to be honest. I've just switched back to Cubase 9 with the same instrument setup and a limiter on the master to see if I have the same problem. I'm just using this setup to practice piano, so it was really a shock to have that happen half way through my practice session. It totally threw me off and I literally had to stop for around 30 minutes to recover
  7. Just wanted to add that I recently started using Logic Pro X (I also own and use Cubase Pro 9) and have a very simple setup with the following: That is just Kontakt, a few Logic EQs and Relab's LX480 Complete reverb. I was playing the instrument on the Track Stack (3rd channel) which plays channel 4 and 5 when I suddenly got smashed with a HUGE noise burst. It was so so so bad and I'm still shaking from it. Several seconds later, everything was back to normal again but I wouldn't dare use Logic again after this. Of course, my first thought is, is it Kontakt? Is it Relab's LX480? When it happened, I did have a background task running which would have put a little load on my main SSD (the sample libraries are on an external SSD) but under no circumstance should the outcome be such loud noise. I have encountered such issues with Cubase in the past also but they are usually related to certain plugins. Meanwhile I have never ever seen a problem with LX480 and Kontakt like this in Cubase in the years I have used them both. I'm on El Capitan with the latest Logic Pro X update installed. I use a Focusrite Clarett 2Pre Thunderbolt audio interface. Just thought I'd add my incident in case it helps anyone. I'm so so sorry to anyone this has happened to, it's terrifying. Cheers Fotis
  8. Hey there, it is absolutely 100% possible to roll back. Option 1 (Time Machine): Roll back your machine with time machine. This is pretty dangerous as you will lose your new work. Option 2 (Full Re-install): Backup all your files first, everything will be deletede. Download the El Capitan Installer Follow steps at http://osxdaily.com/2015/09/30/create-os-x-el-capitan-boot-install-drive/ to create a bootable USB install stick Boot from the USB stick, use Disk Utility to erase your hard disk and re-install Good luck! Fotis
  9. I'm so sorry I missed your reply. Works great, thank you so so so much for taking the time to record that little clip!!! 8)
  10. YES! (more than one way) Can you please walk me through how you did this?
  11. Thanks so much for your reply, let me give those a try
  12. Hey guys, I switched to a Mac about a year ago and love it. I have been considering switching from Cubase to Logic Pro X as well, but had a few questions if that's cool I already own Logic Pro X, but never made the switch. So here are my questions: * In Cubase, when using the scissor tool, you see a crosshair as you navigate around and therefore can see exactly where you will be making the cut, e.g. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByJLgLsrE1H-TFZRNGtmRFNXOG8 Is this possible in Logic Pro X? * Is there a way to adjust the volume of an audio clip using a clip handle or similar? Or must you use the inspector? * Is it possible to change the pitch of an audio clip (without using Flexi Pitch), just transpose the entire clip up or down? I might have a few more questions here and there if that's cool too. Thanks so much for your help! Fotis
  13. Hey there guys, I made a very simple minor mod to the meters in Logic Pro to make them solid as I prefer that to the segmented meters that come standard. It looks like this: To install just download the ZIP file below: logic-pro-solid-meters.zip Then simply backup and replace the files inside the ZIP in folder /Applications/Logic Pro.app/Contents/Resources If you find this handy, please reply to let me know Cheers soundpalace
  14. Also known as 11-bit. Ah yeah, very true. I think that one can access further points (up to 14-bit?), but it's quite fiddly. I think it depends what point you start on and then the increments work from there. I'll definitely be playing with this a lot more in my test project, but for now thanks to you guys, I got to the middle of my tune tonight! YAY
