  1. Ok sorted this out. This has happened twice now to me. There was an errant channel which was playing only the left signal. No sound. I disabled the plugins and the rest of the track played normally...
  2. Hi all, Started a new project a few days ago and opened it today. When I play back I see only the L channel signal in the stereo out and hear only the left channel. All the individual tracks are stereo and I see the L/R meters in each of the individual tracks. The stereo out is not panned. My MacBook system main output is in the middle and in Audio/MIDI L/R channels are the same output levels as well. I did a PRAM reset and still kept getting L out only. I checked against a reference track played directly from the hard drive. Sound came out of the left speaker only. Then I opened an older project. It displays the stereo out L/R meters and plays stereo! I then replayed the reference track from the hard drive and that too was in stereo. I went back and forth between the new and old projects and can consistently replicate the L out only when I play the new project and then "fix it" by playing the old project. I can only surmise that my project is somehow corrupt. But why would that affect the direct output on my laptop? Is there a way to copy the global settings of the old project and apply to the new one. I'd hate to have to start all over...
  3. Solved. It was plugin that caused the left channel to clip. Odd that there was no sound coming from it but after removing it all back to normal. First time for me. Hopefully it won't happen again.
  4. Hey des99, it's a mix of audio and virtual synths about 120 tracks. CPU is fine and had no issues prior to the crash. With L output clipping and going silent I suspect this might be a plugin issue. Next step will be to go thru each track and turn off and remove each plugin as you suggested.
  5. So bussed all to a new output and no change. Switched audio engines and again same issue. Interestingly I noticed that the left audio that cuts out is at max volume and clipping on my Apollo. Maybe some sort of feedback loop. I wonder if a plugin setting was changed with the initial crash.
  6. I turned off all the master output plugins and still same issue.
  7. I've tried disabling plugins but can't seem to isolate it to a single channel. All the individual channels show a stereo signal. When playing back the whole track it's only the main stereo left channel that cuts out. Clicking/popping are randomly scattered throughout the track but are linked to the left stereo channel cutting out or coming back in.
  8. Hi all, Working on a track and Logic (10.2.4) crashed. Opened the autosaved version and now every few seconds the left stereo channel cuts out. I see it in my master out. I hear a click/pop and then the left channel quickly fades out. It comes back in after another click/pop. When I press the spacebar to play or pause I hear the click/pop again. I reverted back to a couple back ups and the same issue. I tried two other older finished tracks and they playback fine. So I'm assuming this project is now corrupted. I'm hoping there is a way to "recover" this. Any tips/thoughts? If I can't recover this project what would be the best way to start over without actually starting all over. Thanks in advance.
  9. Hey so I did some testing between two different setups. On my laptop (see setup up above) this is a recurring issue - everyday, any project, but the exact same projects in my studio are error free - can drag around without any issues at all. And I have the exact same versions of Mac OS and Logic on each computer. The only thing I can think of is that there is something going on at the screen level. My desktop has a 30 inch cinema Mac display- could there be something going on in Sierra re refresh rates, firmware? Are any of you having issues only a laptop? Rob
  10. Me too. Happens everyday, though it seems random (any track, any region) and I've experienced it with multiple different projects. The region "disappears" as I'm dragging it and when I let go it can end up anywhere (even on another track). I've seen this happen in another studio. I'm currently running Logic 10.2.4 on Sierra 10.12 (MacBook Pro Retina 15 in, late 2013.) Snap - Smart, Drag - No Overlap. My "fix" is to refresh my screen by hitting "1" for a screenset change and then back and then I can drag the the region normally. Rob
  11. Hi all, Received a project for a collab and realized that all of the virtual instrument channels are mono (but the audio channels are in stereo). Is there any way to convert the instrument channels to stereo without having to recreate each one, there are 75 channels... Thanks Rob
  12. Great thanks! Leaning to the Lacie rugged series (orange case) or something similar as I need it to fit into my backpack with all my other gear. Price is outrageous though...
  13. Hi all, Looking for advice on getting a portable external thunderbolt drive for my 15" MacBook Pro, OS 10.12. My internal drive is nearly full and want to offload as much as possible to an external drive (sample libraries, projects, some plugins, etc). Portability is key. Thanks! Rob
  14. Hi all, I used Logic's "export all tracks as audio files" option to make stems for a mastering session but when I import the sub groups audio files (drums, bass, vocals, synths, effects) back into Logic and listen it doesn't sound the same as my final mix. None of my tracks are muted (including the side chain). I see wav files for all of the tracks. Am I missing a step? Thanks Rob
  15. Just came across your post as I've experienced the same error. Mine was due to a "/" in one of my Aux track names. I wonder if the "_" in your track names are causing the issue. Regards Rob
