  1. No I have not tried that yet. It doesn’t show any other symptoms though. It is only logic that is concerned.
  2. I have a MackBook Pro Retina mid 2012 2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 16 GB RAM macOS Catalina Version 10.15.6. My Logic Version is 10.5.1. I don't use any third party plugins. i don't know what causes the f***ups, I just work on a project and then suddenly the trouble starts. When it starts it shows visually at first by slightly and shortly moving the tracks to the right and back. Then shortly after that it crashes. I have tried all the steps proposed by Apple: 1. A new start of the computer 2.i have updated logic 3. I have updated my interface Babyface Pro. 4. I have used the onboard sound card 5. I have not tried to open logic without any audio in or out 6. i don't use third party plugins 7. I have not created a new account 8. I have reset the preferences sometimes that did the trick for a day or so 9. I have deleted the files com.apple.logic10.plist and com.apple.logic.pro from ~/Library/Preferences that, too sometimes helped 10. I have deleted logic and done a new installation from the App Store I Have also contacted Apple Support. they went thru the whole routine listed above. I called again after the problem reoccured, they told me to go back to an earlier version of the system via time machine which I did. So probably you will say I should try nr. 7 the next time it crashes and I will. I´ll keep you updated.
  3. Dear David and Eriksimon: Thank You so much, I finally understand. I have found and deleted the controller #7 for volume and Pan in the Event List. There are 6 columns in this list and one is "status" (I have a german version). In this column it says "controller" in the column "number" it says 7 and in the column Length/Info it says volume or pan. Now I can adjust the volume and the pan faders and the level stays where i fix it. Hooray. Thank you so much, David and thank you too, Eriksimon, last not least. You had already proposed the right solution only I couldn´t understand. Now I do, thanks to you two.
  4. Hi David, thank you. I´ve done just what you´ve proposed. I have first deleted all automation data and the adjusted the the volume and pan faders in the mixer. Then I saved the song. But when I started the song, the volume and the Pan parameters where back to the original values as if I´d never changed them. What is this? Thank you again for your patience with a total newbie, but everybody starts at the beginning and hopefully other newbies can profit from a solution. 1.ray
  5. Hi Eriksimon, thank you for your answer. I´m afraid I don´t know what you are saying. I don´t know what Note One messages are neither do i know what Volume control 7 messages are. I have attached a screenshot of the event list. I can´t find "control 7 messages" there. Thanks all the same.
  6. Hi David, thank you for your reply. I´m afraid I still don´t get it. I´ve got 3 "vocal" Midi-tracks .I have erased all Automation Data from it. When I start the Song the volume shows +6dB. I simply want to bring the volume down to let´s say +5 dB for the 1st, 4,3 dB for the other 2 tracks. To do this I start the song in touch mode and try to adjust the yellow slider to 5 dB. It is very hard to get it to snap at exactly 5 dB. What happens by doing this is that many yellow dots are created on the yellow line of the track. I stop when I´ve got it adjusted to (approximately) 5dB. I then move the last yellow dot to the left to get a straight yellow line. When I start the song again, it shows 6dB in the left field, although the yellow line shows 5 dB. The same goes for the Pan adjustment. How can I get it right? Thank you for your patience 1.ray
  7. Thank You Erksimon, there seems to be no other way; i had found out on my own meanwhile that I can change the volume in the list, but I have to change every single note. Didn´t think of deleting the values though. I guess that "hands over" the control of the volume to the automation?
  8. Hi, exuse me (newbie) if this subject has already been covered, but I just can´t find it. I try to change the volume of single tracks of my piece of music, that was a midi-file I´ve written and then opened with logic pro 9. I press Automation and then choose touch. I start the song and bring the volume down with the mouse while the song is playing. But when I start the song over again, the volume is back to the original level. This is driving me nuts. Please help me. thank you in advance 1.ray
