  1. Hey folks, I'm completely new to applescripts and I realized that the examples in my Mainstage just handle the control of iTunes. I read in another thread, that Mainstage is able to process the patchnames in applescript. So... what I want to achieve is, having an applescript, that reads the actual patchname and all the tracknames (names of the channelstrips) and save those into a simple .txt-file. Is that possible? Any guide / hint / link to something useful is appreciated! Thanks, Chris
  2. Hey people, does anybody know, if it's possible to open Mainstange 3 two times? I use two masterkeyboards and I want to assign one instance of mainstage to every board so I can send program changes to change the sound of one keyboard, but not from the other. Any ideas? Thanks Chris
  3. Hey, so... here we go! I want to build a hardware controller for Mainstage but with all the features of the logic remote. So I started to figure out what is going on there. Before building the hardware I tried to replace the logic remote with touchOSC. And it ended up pretty good with logic. I'm able to send the same commands and receive all the values (like tracknames for example). The connection is also very easy. I tried to control logic with the exact same template. At first I was able to move the faders... but after something (I don't know what) happened, it stopped working till now. I tried to read out the commands the logic remote sends to mainstage via the app WireShark and it seems that the commands are the same. Maybe I communicate on the wrong port. But as soon as I connect touchOSC with Mainstage, it automatically receives the port and I'm not able to change it (btw. there are thousands of ports... ). Is there anybody out there who has any experience with such kind of things? Thanks, Chris
  4. Hey! Yeah, I have problems with the click too. My suggestion or solution is: Don't use it. I today used instead an instance of Ultrabeat. It has a build in sequenzer and you can build a click very easily. The on-board-click is pretty buggy.
  5. You should check out OP-X for the Oberheim-Sounds (but the integrated RetroSynth is cool too). Go to Digitalsoundfactory. They have some cool librarys (jupiter for example). If you search the right places, you can find sysex files of a DX7 to load into FM8. That's nice too. I don't know, if there is a D50-Library. I would be interested in this too.
  6. Hey, if you go into preferences you can click on the latency. It changes from roundtrip to input and output latency (I don't have MS3 in front of me... I try to remember). So I think your input latency is 5ms, which is a good value anyway. So roundtrip latency would be 9-10ms. That means: the audio signal goes straight into your computer, it will be processed and after that it goes to the outputs. That's 9-10ms. But if we keyboard player play some chords of an internal instrument, we only have to take care of the output-latency, because we don't send an audio signal into the computer. 10ms roundtrip is a lot... and for me it would be to much also for live playing. In this thread many people argue, that the sound needs 5ms to the guitar players ears, if the amp stands a few feet away from the player. That might be right, but if we add this 5ms to the latency of the computer... we are at 15ms... thats really a lot!! All I can say is: I never got lower than 7ms roundtrip without audio plops with an interface...
  7. Did you try the same thing with a whole new concert? Sometimes Mainstage has some bugs, which only can be solved by creating an empty concert. As fas as I remember, for me this was working... I did assign two channelstrip volumes to one screen control fader. When I copied this to another patch, the assignment was still there...
  8. Hey, do you have already any information on how logic remote and mainstage do communicate? Do you know the OSC commands? Is there a chance to "readout" those commands? The reason why I'm asking: I have a few motorized faders and I want to build a hardware MS3 controller. So it would be nice to know, which commands the faders have to send... I'm also thinking about adding an LCD to view the tracknames....
  9. Well, there are two different "patch list". The one I meant is the set-list where you organize your songs. This is not available in the Logic Remote (or I overlooked it?!). But: If you choose a channelstrip with an instrument assigned, which has presets, you can go through the "patch-browser", which is the same as the indicator of the bottom of the screen. This is, what Logic Remote supports.
  10. Hey, I have 3.0.3 installed but my iPad is not in my house now so I can not check it. A useful information would be, how do MainStage and Logic Remote communicate? With other words: Is there a chance to build a MIDI controller with TouchOSC or Lemur, which is able, to do the same plus a few other features? I'm so happy, that Logic Remote now supports MainStage. That makes live performing a lot easier for me. A patch list would be nice... but that is not included
  11. Hey, a friend of mine showed me the homepage of infinite-response: http://www.infiniteresponse.com/ They developed a keyboard named VAX77. I read through the manual... the VAX77 has a display integrated and the manual says, that it's possible to view the patch- and concert names of mainstage in this display by just plugging in the VAX77 to your Mainstage. How is that even possible? Does anybody has an idea? Thanks, Chris
  12. And here is the answer: Mainstage is still not able to handle SysEx-Data. So... no track names... no vu meter, etc. Whats wrong with these guys....
  13. Yes, they kicked the 32bit bridge... yehaw! I don't need that anyway. I'm just working on 64bit plugins. For me interesting to know: Is there a mackie protocol support now? So, does it send track names?
  14. Thanks for welcome me No, I don't use Automap. I added those informations to my signature. Hope this helps.
  15. Hey everyone, I'm not using any 32bit plugins so I don't need the 32bit bridge. By running in 64bit the startup of mainstage and logic lasts very long, because they scan the plugins twice (and the 2nd time even slower). I want to disable the 32bit bridge. Is that possible? Thanks, Chris
