Hello,
Sorry to resurrect this post again, but i have a related question. I have an iMac with a 1TB HD which i use primarily with Logic Pro X, i also have a MacBook Pro which has Logic Pro X installed but only a 128GB SSD.
Although Logic Pro X is installed on my MacBook, i do not use it for 2 key reasons:
1, I do not know (nor have i really tried to find out) how to move projects easily between systems, so that i can pretty much pick-up a project on my MacBook after i have been fiddling with it a few minutes earlier on my iMac
2, The 128 SSD on my MacBook is not really enough to hold all the patches, synths, additional content that i have for Logic
I have bought a 1TB external hard drive which i was planning to use pretty much just for the purposes of Logic production. Being slightly OCD, in an ideal world i would have the Logic application + all related content / projects etc. on the external drive and just plug it into each device as i wish to use it.
No doubt this is not a great idea and possibly even won't work, alternatively i want to essentially have the basic Logic application on each device with projects / all libraries / additional software etc. on the external drive so that i can just move between devices by plugging in the external hard drive.
Is anyone able to advise whether any of the above is possible, whether its a fools errand and there is a better / more simple way to achieve what i want and whether this would help me in both points 1 & 2.
Regards
