  1. I don't think this is the case because, as I said, a workaround fix to this is opening an empty project and inserting the plugin that is displayed DURING the freeze. For example, as mentioned, Logic will often freeze on Pro-Q 3 for me (i.e., that plugin is displayed upon the freeze during load). If I open an empty project, create an empty software instrument track, and insert a default stereo Pro-Q 3 instance to that track, then (re-)open the initial project, it will load fine. How would you explain this behavior?
  2. Yes, I use it, but imperfectly. Nothing beats the 10.5.1 built-in behavior. If you have more thoughts on the EPM change, would love to hear them on the other thread -- let's try to keep this one on topic as I try to find a good fix!
  3. How certain are we that it is a faulty plugin? Again, the issue is spontaneous, sometimes displays different plugins during the loading freeze, and is sometimes resolved by opening a blank project and creating a track with the plugin displayed during the freeze. It is hard to test, because sometimes I can load the project(s) just fine, so isolating a faulty plugin is tricky. I can only go off of what plugin is displayed upon the freeze during the load. How do we know the freeze is "after" Channel EQ is loaded? Doesn't Channel EQ being displayed indicate that the plugin is what is currently being loaded?
  4. Hi all, I'm having a recurring issue on my system where projects will freeze during loading on specific plugins. My attached photo shows this now happening with the stock Channel EQ. This occurs spontaneously, and the usual fix for me is opening a blank project, loading that plugin into a track in that blank project, and then going back and reopening the initial project. However, this is a time-consuming workaround. Most commonly, it'll get stuck loading Pro-Q 3. My hunch is that these are (EQ) plugins on lots of tracks in the project, which may be a hint to the issue. Can anyone give some insight into this?
  5. Nah, I'm trying to script a Keyboard Maestro macro to automate these exports, and this step really messes it up. The most involved work in making a macro for this would probably be having to set up some kind of screen capture detection to see which audio format it is set to, then correct it if necessary. It's a shame to hear it sounds like a global/fixed AAC setting isn't possible yet.
  6. Hmm, that's not the case for me. I always choose AAC for all my video exports. However, when I reopen previous projects, the video export audio format defaults to Linear PCM, and I have to manually change it to AAC each time. If I keep the project open and do multiple exports, it remembers the setting. It seems that every time I close and reopen Logic, the setting is reset and not remembered. I am currently experiencing this on Logic 10.5.1. Maybe this issue has been resolved in newer versions?
  7. Hello everyone, I'm looking to change the default audio format of my exported videos from Logic to AAC instead of Linear PCM. Any suggestions on how to do this?
  8. I use "Singe view" quite a bit for a manageable view of my signal flow. I am playing around with the feature of reassigning aux channels to see how much I can achieve. It would be nice to have everything assigned in an order that makes sense (and having it consistently reflected in all mix views is a nice bonus).
  9. This is only true in the "tracks" view mode, not the "single" or "all" view modes.
  10. I recognize that this may be a bit complex, but I'm eager to gain a better understanding for organizational purposes. Currently, we're aware that dragging the order of aux tracks in the mixer's "single" and "all" view is not possible. However, what we can do is reassign the aux channel that an aux track is linked to using the MIDI environment. For example, if we take an aux track situated at the far right end of the mixer, examining this track will likely reveal that it's assigned to a high aux number. By reassigning it to "aux 1", the track will be moved to the first slot in the mixer. The challenge arises because this reassignment seems to erase the plugins and corresponding signal flow. In the context of a template, this reordering means that everything related to buses must be reconstructed, including all routing and plugins. I'm curious if there are any workarounds to reassigning aux channels within the MIDI environment while preserving their original aux track state. Any insights into how this process works would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Just out of curiosity, what specific computer specs are gonna matter most when it comes to this? Is it RAM? Cores? Curious what upgradable factor would influence bounce speeds the most.
