  1. Okay, I used the default "new project" template to demonstrate this behavior, and it got even weirder! On my own personal template where I have a saved lane set, it does what I said in my first post. With the default template, it deletes the wrong notes, crashes logic pro, and even causes the words on the lanes to become upside down (WTF). Surely I cannot be the only person with this issue?
  2. The step editor is acting very strangely when I try and link lanes. Specifically, whenever I try and put a note in a lane (say C1) at the same position as a note in another lane (say D1). What is supposed to happen is the note I input (C1) will "replace" the other note (D1) and the D1 will be deleted. I use this all the time with drum fills and other parts. However, when I try this in logic x, the editor moves everything to the bottom of the editor, the transport skips a little bit foreword, and then a white block appears at the top right of the editor. And if I try to this in the step editor floating window...logic pro crashes! Is anyone else having this weird issue, or am I doing something wrong?
  3. yep, that did the trick! thanks for the help guys
  4. The faders are controlling pan, volume, and the filter cuttoff of instrument 1. I am sending control signals (channel 1, numbers 20, 21, and 22) from my midi controller into logic through the IAC bus to control the faders. How exactly do I upload a project file?
  5. I just tried outputting each fader to a "dummy" monitor and then creating a macro and outputting the macro to the instrument and inputting the multi-instrument object cable to the macro, but I was only able to control the first fader with the midi controller. The faders control the right parameters when I click directly on them and move them, but I can't get the midi controller signal to control the other 2 faders
  6. Okay, so if I want to create a macro for all three faders (they are receiving input from a midi controller) outputting into instrument 1, how would I do it?
  7. Macros don't work for me with my midi controller environment. It always ends up removing cable connections
  8. How do I hide objects or a group of objects in the environment? kind of like how there is a Hide button in the track header if you use the "h" key command, is there a similar way of doing this in the environment?
  9. "Fixes an issue in which Logic Pro X did not correctly display track icons in projects imported from GarageBand 2 for iOS." Are you kidding me? I don't mean to rant, but of all of the issues that users have been reporting in the past month, THESE are the ones that get fixed? Apple has some of the best engineers in the world. If they truly cared about the pro community, they would pay attention to our concerns. Logic is such a great DAW, but sometimes I just wish apple put more effort into it
  10. thanks for the help. I don't know why logic doesn't allow those aux's to work for the factory default
  11. So when I make drum kit designer multioutput and add more auxillary tracks to it, I can't seem to be able to get the separate low-mid-high toms and the kick in and kick out aux tracks. How can I get these aux tracks?
  12. 2. If you need to create a complex environment setup inside Logic and want to control any (14bit plugin parameter), you have to create a "Dummy" Standard Instrument port set to IAC and use the CA to learn the outgoing environment midi data etc. Example: Create a Fader object in the Environment using CC#12 out definition, cable it to a Instrument object which midi port is set to IAC and learn any Sculpture parameter which uses 14bit fader value. Not really an efficient solution. it worked at first, but then it caused a whole bunch of problems, including causing my external controller application to quit. In logic itself, the controller assignment would it forget itself after a while. Nevertheless, I still think that there is a way around this issue, and your method at least shows that it might be possible
  13. damn, i was about to ask a similar question and I am having the exact same problem trying to control the filter cutoff of sculpture (channel 2 value 463). The only workaround I have found is to create a controller assignment and select "auto demix by channel when multitrack recording" in the project settings and then arm all of the tracks in the project. But that gets tedious as the tracks become disarmed when creating new tracks, selecting other tracks, etc. There has GOT to be a way to do this
  14. How do I convert a software instrument track (loaded with a drum kit) to a drummer track?
