  1. Those experiencing problems with firewire audio interfaces should try this. it solved the audio glitches i was having with my FF400 since the 10.4.10 update: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1019443
  2. i would indeed call the kick and snare downbeats in a typical rock beat. xs4is's point about head nodding is proof of this ( in most cases) cos ya most likely to nod ya head 4 times during a bar of rock.
  3. i couldn't care less about the look, i just want enhanced ergonomy, and by the look of those TINY sliders, it looks like i'll be dissapointed. i'll just have to wait and have a 'hands on' experience before dismissing the new design completely.
  4. having had some drumming tuition i would call the upbeat: all beats which are played with an upwards motion of the hand or just bouncing along. in other words all notes which are not accented, and carry the groove along instead of slamming it down. the downbeat IMO refers directly to the drummers hand falling down resulting in a predominant or accented stroke. so the downbeat is equivalent to the foundation of a beat whereas the upbeats are the 'ghost' hits, creating dynamics, providing an offset for the foundation. something along those lines anyway.... whether the first beat of a 4/4 pattern or all 4 notes are the downbeat or not depends entirely on the music/genre ! i wouldn't lose sleep over it in any case: bonne nuit il est temps que je me couche
  5. i really don't like the new tiny sliders. they are way too small. i prefer the old version
  6. personally i jut use logiconiser. rather than manually edit file names etc... http://www.logicprofiles.com/
  7. I'd love Ace of Dubs to make a version of Predator, by Rob Papen A Zebra2 and filterscape by Ace of Dubs would also be.. err ace! Yours are my favourite, Ace!
  8. Somthing to use vdrums easily with drum plug ins!
  9. well, logic's synths are rather complete already! seems you're just never satisfied stick to mpc if its so great !!
  10. yea i agree. for those that dig deeper, there is some pretty cool s#!+ though. maybe you need to try live? really easy to knock out beats with. especially if you have a trigger finger too. better than an MPC IMO...
  11. lol, ultrabeat is mystic, and exs outdated for sure. once you grasp UB though, it's a pretty powerful beast. less practical than battery for sample management, but then battery doesn't have synthesis and sequencer. personally i like both
  12. Hi, i would definitely be very interested in purchasing a video if i knew that this 'sample chopping' technique were to be covered! If it isn't covered, could you please shed some light, or point me to a source which does cover it? Cheers ! edit: ahh, i see it's out, and it covers the topics i'm interested in, so i purchased it with the discount. thanks!! can't wait to see it.
