  1. Hi all, In Logic, whenever there are overlapped midi data in the region, it asks you whether you want to keep/shorten/split the midi note. Instead, I'd want Logic to stop asking me and set 'keep' as a default (like Cubase does) is there anyway to achieve this? Logic is definitely my beloved program but it's midi editing is so cumbersome compared to Cubase 8.5 (or even older Cubase 5.0) Thanks
  2. thanks all, never knew anything about 'click zones' setting. Looks very useful I'll look into it. Thanks again
  3. hi all, when you hold down option key in LPX in the Piano Roll, it automatically changes to a zoom tool. I'm wishing if it can instead be a scissor tool (muck like Cubase does).I use scissor tool way more than a zoom tool. Anyway we can do this? Thanks in advance
  4. hi all, I've recently deleted dozens of my past LPX prj files that I kept in my external hdd. Long story short, after days of recovering using FILEiq function in data recovery program, I've reconstructed my project files but am still missing audio files. Now, I have most of my wav/aiff files recovered as well and kept in separate folders, but only they are over 10000+ and not labeled properly. They are labeled instead : Wave1001, Wave1002, wave1003 ... so on. I wish i can manually check each wav files to see if they are the right corresponding files to each project but again these folders contain well over random 10000+ (not surprisingly) audio files ranging from my works since 2008 I understand that any logic wav/aiff files used in the project have a certain apple loop(?) or logic file INFO inside embedded to it. Tempo information, Markers etc. My idea is to let logic itself check numerous audio files and let it discover the matching file info to the right project, but not sure if there's anyway of doing so. Question : Is there a way to let logic automatically locate audio files used in the project via examining inside file info? I'm quite serious now since I am reconstructing my most important recent 4 projects and any help would be really appreciated. Thank you missing audio files
  5. Thanks for sharing ur experience. I never thought that using Kontakt per each instrument can be more RAM friendly. MaybeI should experiment a little as soon as I finish this project. Much thanks again!!
  6. Thanks for your reply. I think you're right. It's already using a whole lot of RAM just by adding tracks. Would there be any tricks to minimize my memory usage? (beside freezing tracks since I need to edit tracks constantly)
  7. Hi all, So I'm currently working on a 5 min orchestra mock-up project. My single Logic file contains full orchestra that has all the instruments loaded up on Kontakt. I have opened up about 50~60 tracks (Winds x 12, Brass x 12, Perc x 12, Strings x 12, Other Orchestra patches x 12) with 5 Kontakt loaded on 5 different multi output channel groups. Also there's 5 minute long movie file imported (but is minimized into a small window in case for any CPU overload) Yes, that does sound like a huge project. However, I'm curious as what is actually eating up my RAM since I'm purging all my samples as soon as I finish sequencing. In the end, samples loaded (which are actually used) are NO MORE THAN 100mb ALL COMBINED. Also my singles Logic file itself is shorter than 1 minute since I've seperated 5 minute movie into 7~10 Logic files to avoid any Logic overload. I have 16GBs of RAM but after 3~4 mins of working my computer starts to respond very slowly and my RAM is around 2-3GBs which forces me to clean my memory using Memory Clean to free up my memory. I understand that this is quite a heavy project and loading 50+ tracks (5 multi output x 12) with Kontakt loaded 5 times is a lot but still I don't think that deserves to eat up all of my 16GBs of RAM. Any thoughts ? Would there be any suggestion to work more efficiently when working with several multi output instruments? Thanks in advance Logic Project Memory stat Samples actually used are tiny
  8. Actually I'd like to ask a little more about this. I've read some threads suggesting to start song at 1 1 1 1. The threads said that automation and many other parameters can mess your project if you don't start song at 1 1 1 1. That said, I have whole lot of past Logic projects that starts well before 1 1 1 1 but I don't recall having any issues so far. Most of the time I had videos that have a time code embedded and have 5-6 extra seconds before the start of the actual movie. (Please take a look at the attached photo) For instance if I have 6 seconds of pre-start period I'd usually create 1-2 bars with bpm of 60(or 120) so I can start the project where video (actually) starts. The reason for this is to SYNC THE MEASURE NUMBER WITH MY SCORE. It's extremely painful to have to separate measure number. Any comments? Btw, thanks for your help. I've read so many of your threads in the past whenever I had Logic issues.(Ever since I started Logic 8 in 2008) Much thanks to you really.
  9. This has been annoying me for a while but finally I'm seeking for a solution. Every time I choose a region and press Command+6 (Piano Roll) it opens up the piano roll but doesn't show where the region where playhead is located at. For instance if the playhead is at bar 64 1 1 1 and if I hit command+6 to open up the region, it will show the region at 4 1 1 1 or sometimes 1 1 1 1 or any random position you name it. Thanks in advance !
  10. Hi David, Thanks for your help I'm about to write a new thread. Much appreciated
  11. Hi all, Here are couple of Logic issues I've been having for quite some time. I'd truly appreciate any help! Thanks so much in advance Question1) Some mysterious behaviour here. I'm trying to start the project from negative value (- 1 1 1 1 ) but can't seem to find my song start marker. It seems like it's disappeared all of a sudden. (Please check attached photo) Any ideas? Song start marker missing Question2) (...) Question3) (...) Again thank you very much in advance.
  12. Hi David, Thanks for your input. I've tried both Export tempo information to Audio files and Remove tempo information to Audio files but still isn't working. I also tried opening new session and this time instead hit no when asked if I want to "Import tempo information" from my audio regions.
