  1. This statement is for USB devices that require power to be supplied to it. The Intel Macs USB Ports were supplying power for those devices, the M1 doesn't supply the required power those USB devices need. This statement doesn't apply to you because your Korg SQ-64 requires to be plug-in with the AC adapter, which is where the power is being supplied. For those wanting to get a M1, make sure to do the homework, otherwise expect frustration. The SQ-64 doesn't require an AC adapter, but yes it's true the M1 doesn't supply the right power, though it still works. On the SQ-64 there are two USB Power settings, 500mA and 2A, with the 500mA for older USB 2.0. The M1 will only supply that amount, because when I switch it to 2A the System Information on the M1 still shows 500mA being sent. Like I say it still works, the difference is the lights are dimmer. Can't say for sure if other devices work though. My guess is if they don't require much power, over that 500mA, they will work.
  2. Found the problem: Go to Project Settings, then Recording, and check the box that says "Auto demix by channel if multitrack recording".
  3. Anyone know if the M1 Macs are having trouble with MIDI over USB? I’ve got a Korg SQ-64 running into Logic, with Track A on Ch 1 routed to Alchemy on Ch 1, and the Track B on Ch 2 routed to Dune on Ch 2. Yet when I arm the tracks in Logic to record both tracks in Logic record the output of Track B from the SQ-64. I thought I read where some hardware wasn’t working yet with M1 Macs. Seems like something simple like MIDI over USB shouldn’t be a problem, especially this long after release of the M1 Macs. I suppose I might be wrong though. If anyone has any information please post a reply.
  4. Aaaaaaand it works in Rosetta mode: Go to Applications, right click on Logic, choose "Get Info" and then check the "Open using Rosetta" box.
  5. Looks like it's a Logic problem: https://forum.scalerplugin.com/t/scaler-2-apple-m1-compatibility-eta/6223/6 Which I thought might be the case, considering it was many 3rd party MIDI FX not working and not just one.
  6. Found someone on reddit with the same problem, no solution though! Disappointing.
  7. Just got one of the Mac minis with an M1, can't get 3rd party MIDI FX to work, in particular Scaler 2 (ScalerControl 2 as MIDI FX) and Thesys. Both of these plug-ins are updated to work natively with the M1 Macs. Apple's MIDI FX seem to be working fine, just not 3rd party ones. Searched around a bit and couldn't find any information, except for a post on the Native Instruments forum with the same problem (but no replies). I'll search around a bit more, but in the meantime if anyone has any idea what's going on, insight is appreciated.
  8. Thanks for the link. This seems to work better than what I found. I was getting some glitches with the other method.
  9. YouTube to the rescue: Worked like a charm!
  10. What I'm looking for is something like what Reason has, the "Direct Record" switch along the top of their equivalent to Logic's MIDI FX: https://www.propellerheads.se/en/reason/instruments/player-devices#scales-chords This gives you the actual MIDI output, and not just the single note input, when recording.
  11. When you record something using the Chords MIDI FX, it will only show the single MIDI note you used, and I'd like to be able to record the actual chord output. Is there any way to do this?
  12. Should have clarified, past the 24th color in the MAResourcesMapping.plist file. Here is what I did: Nothing big, main thing just removed some of the saturation. Like I say it is limited, though you can change it dramatically and remove all saturation, but keep in mind you still have to deal with the fonts in Logic and other graphical elements which remain the same (in other words, white fonts will be hard to read on a white colored mixer channel, etc.). If you do tinker with this, one thing I found is that the "Base" values are the bottom row of the palette. Then the increments are how much they change incrementally moving upwards on the palette. You can also make it 5 rows deep if you want by changing the "Groups" integer to 5, or even reduce it to 3. I should stress, this isn't that exciting. What would be is if Apple gave us a full customization along the lines of Renoise.
  13. Not sure if Apple added this since this thread was posted, but you can also adjust the brightness and saturation, by going to the section just past the 24th color. The "base" brightness and saturation are the bottom row of the palette, and the other brightness and saturation settings are the increment levels. It's still limited even with this, and thus still rather ugly. The UI coloring was never a strong point for Logic X.
  14. Is there a place to download MIDI FX presets? Specifically for the Arp and Chord MIDI FX?
  15. 7 more cassette icons, bringing the total to 16. For previous 9 click here. morecassettes.zip
