  1. I think I might be of help. When you save, do you select "Save" or "Save as…" from the menu? Do you know the difference between the two? It sounds to me like you're selecting "Save as…", which creates a new version of the project file and then you're not paying attention to WHERE you're saving it. This is a common mistake among computer users of all persuasions. This would explain why you're getting the results that you're seeing. Instead, when you're beginning a project or you already have an existing project, if you only want ONE version of that project file in the location of your choice, just choose "Save." The first time, this will allow you to name the project and tell it where you want it to go, and from then on it will save any changes to that EXACT same file in the EXACT same location. T.
  2. OK, so, just to confirm, the Axion Pro series, Hypercontrol or no Hypercontrol, works just fine with Logic 9. Yes? Thanks. Terry
  3. I thought the benefit of Hypercontrol was so that you don't have to assign the controls yourself. Is this not the case? Terry
  4. Has anyone tried the Axiom Pro with Logic Pro 9 yet?? Need to know if it works or not. M-Audio has not given their official OK. Thanks.
  5. Well, of course, this just goes to show that if you ever disagree with anyone about anything in this day and age you should just keep your mouth shut or risk getting railed against and told that you're incredibly ignorant. I guess the days of intelligent, rational debate are long gone. Yes, you know all, I know nothing. Are we done now? What a dumba$$ I am for even responding and trying to be helpful in the first place. Sayonara, Logic Pro Help! Signing off, T.
  6. I was responding to Runner, not the original poster. I know perfectly well what Logic's score editor will and will not do. What I AM saying is that to dismiss it as second-rate compared to Finale or Sibelius is extreme and invalid. Professional scores can be and are created in it without any help from other apps. T.
  7. I disagree. I recently attended a seminar by an accomplished composer who had examples of his scores written for the Russian National Orchestra that were assembled and printed in Logic Pro 7. They looked as legit as anything I've seen produced in either of the applications that you mentioned. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Logic's scoring abilities. BTW, you can change text styles, fonts and sizes by going to the Score window's local Text menu and selecting Text Styles. You can add a new text style by going to that window's New menu and selecting New Text Style. I think with a little work (a bad word in this day and age) you can produce scores as detailed as you need in Logic. Don't be afraid to roll up your sleeves and make it happen. You have all the tools you need. Enjoy! T.
  8. I've got a problem that I think might not be able to be solved. I'd really like some good orchestral samples for the EXS24, but I don't just have the cash to go out and buy the very extensive sets that are commercially available. I do, however, have a very nice set of orchestral samples that came with Reason 2.5 that I like very much. Instead of rewiring Logic & Reason to use these, is there any way at all to extract the AIFF's that are included in the sample refill that comes with Reason so that they can be used in the Logic sampler??? I'm not expecting this is possible, but thought I'd check and see. Thanks. Terry
  9. How men will pack only the things they will absolutely need and women will pack everything the MIGHT need. How time moves three times slower than normal when you're working but three times faster than normal when you're on your lunch break. How when you're late for work you catch every single red light, but when you have plenty of time to get there, it's green lights all the way. Finally, my favorite is how no matter what you're shopping for in a store, that is the ONE THING they are out of. Every time. No matter what it is. Never changes. T.
  10. Yeah, but I had to trudge through 4 miles in the snow...in the dark...after chopping wood....to take my test by candelight..... Jus' kiddin'! T.
  11. Actually, I got my certificate today. Still no listing, but I'll give it a while. Thanks for the info. T.
  12. I've recently passed the Level 1 Apple certification for Logc Pro 7. Does anyone whose also done this know how long it takes to get your certificate and to be listed on the website? I've emailed the website (proinfo@apple.com) about it and gave them my info, but its been more than 2 weeks since I took the test and I've still not seen anything, received a reply or received my certificate. Any thoughts? Thanks. T.
  13. I'm sort of wondering this, too. I know that if you go to the global Audio menu and choose Import Audio File that it will insert a file at the beginning of the measure where the SPL is located, but not at the exact point of the SPL. Could the solution be to import the file this way and THEN use Pickup Clock to move it to the exact position in the bar? T.
  14. That's exactly the same problem I've been having with the EXS24! If you check out my latest thread in this forum, I thought maybe it was a problem with my M-Audio Keystation 61es. But, like you, I was only having this problem with the EXS24! I'm going to try and lower my buffer settings, too and see if that does the trick. I usually keep it at 512 and that has worked fine for all the other instruments. T.
  15. I've had some issues with an M-Audio Keystation 61es when using it with Logic, specifically with the EXS24. Within a certain octave, from about F2 to C3, I get spotty note-on and velocity, especially when playing a lot of notes at once. All other octaves seem to work fine. Could this simply be a defect in the keyboard or a software problem? I usually don't have a problem with other instruments except the EXS24. I've considered that it could be that I have my audio buffer usually set to 512. I still don't think that would cause problems only within a certain range of the keyboard. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks. T.
