  1. I will follow up with them and work on it with them. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
  2. Yes, I'm beginning to think that as well. I have contacted them and here's what they asked (with my answers.) If connecting to a USB type C port, ensure the USB cable is either one we have approved or is one that is ‘USB IF’ certified. (done) Does any specific action (or actions) seem to cause the disconnection? For example, connecting headphones, switching on 48V phantom power, etc. (NO) Do you have access to another computer to test this on? If so, what is the outcome here? (HAVEN'T TRIED) Do you have access to a powered USB hub? If so, does connecting the 4i4 to this have any impact on the problem. (YES AND NO)
  3. No, I HAVE had the disconnect. It has happened unplugged, plugged in, with powered USB-C hub, with unpowered USB-C hub, and direct to MacBook via USB-C. And it has worked perfectly for hours under these conditions as well.....
  4. ok thanks. The whole thing seems so random. I just ran it on battery power only from my MacBook, with midi to v-drums both with an unpowered USB-C hub (to USB-A) and also direct to the mac via USB-C. In the past this didn't work at all but now it's working just fine, at least for the 15 minutes I tested it. What could cause seemingly random disconnects?
  5. Are you using a powered or un powered usb hub? Or are you going direct from the 4i4 to a usb A port on your mac?
  6. I get a window popup in Logic that says the interface is no longer connected and then I have to click it for it to re-connect. I haven't managed to make it happen again, but if I do, I will send a screenshot. I'm starting to think it is a power issue. The little green USB icon on the front of the Scarlett flickers when it disconnects. I have been connecting from USB C to USB C with the computer plugged in and charging. A while back I had a rehearsal where I forgot my computer charger and the Scarlett would not function by using the battery power of the computer. I thought that was really strange. Shouldn't the MacBook provide the same power to the USB ports regardless of whether it is plugged in or not?
  7. Hi, My Focusrite audio interface is suddenly randomly disconnecting from logic pro x. I'm pretty sure it all started whe I was running a file with the stero out split into two mono outs, though I'm not sure that has anything to do with it. I'm pretty surte it's not a cable as I tried extensive replacements including getting a brand new 4i4 from focusrite. At this point it really seems like a software issue. Has anyone run into this problem andor does anyone know how to fix this? Many thanks, p.s. Logic pro 10.6.3.

  9. for some reason, outs 1 and 3 are the same and 2 and 4 are the same.
  10. I enabled channels 3 and 4 in focusrite but click is still also going to outs 1 and 2 even though I have it set in logic to send to outs 3 and 4 only.
  11. ah ok, thanks. I am using the focusrite 4i4 which has 4 outputs on the back AND a headphones out on the front. Right now outputs 3 and 4 are just mirroring outputs 1 and 2 so I think you are right about having to do some routing in the focusrite itself.
  12. Hi, I am trying to route tracks to various places and am having a hard time. I have split my stereo out into mono outputs 1 and 2 and can route things there but now I want to route a track to the headphones out on my focusrite 4i4 without it going to any other outs. Is the headphone out only for Master output? Or, how can I create my own headphone mix without sending things to F.O.H. ? I tried to use channel 3 and or 4 but could'nt figure out how to get it to work, so i must be messing up the flow somewhere. F.O.H. is going to take mono output 1 (v-drums bus) and mono output 2 (percussion bus) but somehow I need another output for my headphones that includes my click track. Any takers? I am using current version of logic pro x and a macbook pro big sur.
  13. ok will do from now on, thanks.
  14. Does anyone know if you can bring the stereo outputs from Superior Drummer 3 into the logic mixer as mono channels? It's a pain to be constantly moving between the two windows and would be great to mix the drums in Logic and be able to use plugins etc other than SD3 stuff. Thanks, Joe
