  1. OK, so it appears that the problem might have been resolved after I installed update from April 26, 2022. Also, I had inadvertently been working directly from a back file in Dropbox and dragged to desktop so that may have caused issues as well -- just in case this helps anyone else experiencing anything similar. Thank you to anyone who gave this any thought -- very much appreciated as always!
  2. Any ideas why I received these messages...why they're not consistent in "sample rate recognized"...and last but not least...what can I do to fix? FYI: It appears internally that my Logic settings are set to a sample rate of "44.1" in the project settings. Thank you any and all in advance!
  3. It seems as though when I drag the Pattern region for the Silverlake down it turns into a midi region -- and then I cannot access the Step Sequencer. Any ideas what I did incorrectly? See screenshot attached. Thank you!
  4. Thank you to all as this discussion from 2005 just helped me in 2016 as well!
  5. Hello again to all and thank you specifically to "triplets" and "Atlas007" and "deft_bonz". I am very sorry for the delay in responding, but right after I posted my question, my Father had a stroke and spend several weeks in the hospital. He is now back home rehabbing, but I have not been able to return to my music endeavors since that time until now. I did however wish to thank each of you for your immediate help and let you know how much I appreciated your ideas and the time you took to share them. I will explore them and post my findings/results so hopefully all can benefit. Thanks again!
  6. Thank you Triplets very much for the quick reply. I will indeed give that a try. Any ideas as to why it only comes through in my car and not through the monitor headphones (or iPad or home stereo)? Note: it really is quite dramatic in the car and not at all noticeable in the other listening environments. Any thoughts are welcome, but thank you again for the advice above.
  7. I have composed a piece that involves 6 tracks using the following: Meteor Shower Sea of Glass Arctic Shimmer Event Horizon Statosphere Zen Garden When I play the composition in my car (using my iPod attached through my 2014 Audi with high end speakers) I hear an extremely piercing & annoying high pitch frequency that occurs off an on throughout the piece and lasts sometimes for approx. 4 seconds and sometimes for approx. 10 seconds. This occurs only in my car and is not perceptible by me when listening through my Audio-Technica Monitor Headphones NOR when I play the composition from iTunes through my home computer and stereo. I understand from my learning/research that different listening environments cause different experiences and some things must just be dealt with. However, the tone that I hear in my car is completely unacceptable. I've tried different things like adding and or deleting "Exciter" and that just seems to move the tone around. SO I THINK MY QUESTION CAN BEST BE PHRASED -- is there a filter to apply (whether on an individual track by track basis or to the piece as a whole) that will show me where this is occurring and how to eliminate it? (Note: I know for example from listening that the tone occurs from say 1 minute 20 seconds through 1 minute 28 seconds, but I'm wondering if there's a filter or some other plugin, etc. that would show me that visually at that time the high end goes way up at that time). Again, this only occurs in my car, but is very, very evident and annoying. Thanks in advance for any insights.
  8. Indeed "THANK YOU AGAIN" to both David and Triplets. Note: I'm not only new to Logic Pro X -- this is also the first forum I've ever posted/participated in -- so all of this is a learning experience for me and any "slights" coming from my end are purely unintentional (so I'm hoping this "thank you" is seeing by both/all). (smiley face) -- see, I'm not even sure how to get a smiley face icon into my post. But, I promise to figure that one out on my own.
  9. Thank you again for your quick response. Note: David, I posted a follow up question that hasn't appeared yet -- HOWEVER, using your advice I explored around a bit and have (apparently/hopefully) solved it by copying the "02.3s Clean Room.cst" from the "Bus" folder to the "Track" folder -- and it now does appear in the dropdown menu as it had previously. While I'm going to pat myself on the back for the final steps, I must give you most of the credit for pointing me in the right direction! Thank you again! John FYI -- I completed your Logic Pro X instruction book and it has helped me tremendously (I will probably be going through it again from start to finish at least one more time though as I'm not yet "proficient" by any means). Also, I'll be posting another question about recommended recording procedures, but will do so in a separate post.
  10. Thank you both for responding so quickly! QUESTION: David, both the ".cst" and ".pst" files are in their correct locations on my computer according to your pathway instructions. HOWEVER, "Clean Room" is still NOT an option in the drop down menu path following: Legacy / Logic / Spaces / Large Space / ( here is where "Clean Spaces" used to be a part of the drop down options, but is no longer). So I think I need to rephrase/update my question to "how do I get it back into the drop down menu option?" -- As it appears that I didn't actually delete it from my computer (since those 2 files are in their correct locations as stated above), merely from the menu options in the Inspector. Thank you again in advance! John
  11. I accidentally deleted "Clean Room" from the following channel strip setting I have been using: Legacy - Logic - Spaces - Large Spaces - Clean Room and now "Clean Room" is no longer an option in the list when I follow the above selections. How can I get it back into the active list? Any directions/instructions greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  12. My monitor speakers are off and I'm monitoring the sound through headphones. Before replying back this time, I created probably 15-20 tracks using the "audio" as well as the "guitar and bass" heading with a variety of "input monitoring" and "record enable settings" and it appears that I'm still having the issue "sporadically" -- i.e. sometimes it seems the work around works and then using the exact same settings it may not. That may seem impossible. but it does appear to be what I'm experiencing.
  13. Regarding #2 -- According to my "About Logic Pro" dropdown info, I'm using version 10.0.5. Please advise if I can supply additional info that would help you as well. Regarding #5 -- that is great to know. Regarding #6 -- I'm glad to share them and they are sincere and much deserved.
  14. 1. David -- thank you for the tremendously fast answer! Very much appreciated! 2. It appears that that work around you suggest does indeed work (FYI - I was pretty darn confident in your advice prior to trying it) - however, ONLY if I choose the "I" button on the track header "manually" and not when I had had a check mark beside "input monitoring" when I originally created the track. 3. Please advise if what I'm experiencing is different from others or if something new maybe others can benefit as well. 4. Thank you again for your quick help. Like many I have used your books for Logic 8 & 9 and found them to be very well written and helpful. Your "hands on" lessons and style are very, very "learner friendly!" 5. However, my commitment to learning Logic Pro X runs deeper than to previous versions as I can now devote more time -- so you may be seeing more posts from me in the future with new questions -- so you have been warned! 6. And one more time -- seriously, thank you again for your help!
  15. I'm using Logic Pro X and working through David Nahmani's (very helpful!) book and I'm stuck in Chapter 2 at the point of "recording a single track" on page 63. My problem is that I am able to hear the guitar that I"m adding through the headphones by itself fine. However, when I hit "play" I hear all the other instruments in the lesson recording EXCEPT my guitar (it drops out entirely when I hit "play"). The only way I am able to hear the original instruments PLUS my newly added guitar track is when I hit RECORD. Hence, I am only able to monitor the sound levels of all instruments visually prior to recording. I can't believe that this is correct, but I am at present unable to solve this on my own. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! FYI - I'm using Duet 2, but not the Maestro mixer software. But, I don't think this is causing the problem since I am able to hear the guitar by itself and in the mix once I hit RECORD. Thanks in advance!
