  1. That's SPOT-ON, des99! Everything is easy... once we know how to do it! Thanks again... very much!
  2. Got it that time, des99! I'm doing cartwheels and heel-clickers! Your .gif's were SUPER helpful, along with your written explanations to support them. Just what I needed! I've been trying to get this sorted for many moon cycles, first using Logic External MIDI Instruments and the physical KORG Triton— and more recently using the Triton plug-in. I wasn't sure I'd unlock the mystery in this lifetime, but thanks to you and the other contributors... we did! I figured out how to save my preset, too... using the "WRITE" button. Stoked! Life's simple pleasures, man. Ahhhhhhhh. How can I get a coffee thank-you to you?
  3. Thanks for hanging-in with me, des99. Still scratchin' the'ol noggin', here. Here's a screenshot update:
  4. Here's the screenshot of the COMBI plug-in you requested... des99. Now I'm going to try the COMBI mod's you suggested. Sounds like it may just do the trick.
  5. des99: I switched to COMBI mode on both the physical KORG and the plug-in, and it's still sending the same patch to all the tracks. enossified: Thanks for jumping-in. I created the Multitimbral test project in such a way that each track already has an instance of the KORG Triton Extreme plug-in. I did spot a clue just now, though— whenever I go to the plug-in to select a new patch on a different track... my patch selection for the track isn't retained. In other words, I'm unable to select a patch and have it stick... as soon as I go to another track and choose a different patch... all 16 tracks get auto-assigned whatever patch I last clicked on.
  6. Thanks for each of your replies and suggestions, des99!, polanoid, and fuzzfilth! I created a Multitimbral project but I'm still only getting one MIDI patch to play across all 16 tracks. To your second reply... des99!, you're correct... I'm using the KORG Triton Extreme plug-in inside Logic... but I'm using the actual physical KORG Triton Extreme keyboard to strike the ivories. If anyone has a chance... please see the attached screenshots outlining my approach thus far— I'm hoping they'll provide you with some clues as to what I'm missing.
  7. • Logic Pro 10.5.1 • Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 (3rd generation) • KORG Triton Extreme • Mac Pro 5,1 Mid 2010 • OS X 10.14.6 (latest OS my Mac can run) Greetings! I’m inching my way toward understanding how to work with MIDI in Logic. Please note: this is not an External MIDI Instrument setup, rather, I’m running the KORG Triton Extreme "plug-in" inside Logic, which can be purchased separately from the keyboard. QUESTION Please help me understand how to record up to 16 separate/unique MIDI software instrument patches to 16 separate tracks and have them all play back simultaneously as MIDI? I’m familiar with how to change the MIDI Channel in Logic’s MIDI Inspector, and on the KORG, too. I have enabled “Auto demix by channel if multitrack recording” in Logic’s Recording Project Settings. I have MIDI cables correctly connecting the audio interface to the KORG, and the audio interface is correctly connected to the Mac via USB. I’ve attached a screenshot of the MIDI Setup window of the KORG… hoping someone might know which selections I should make there: I’d be grateful for any coaching on this. Thanks much!
  8. Thank you, des99, for the note and links! Headed to check-out your links now. I appreciate your time and sharing!
  9. Hello, When in Logic's Main Window, if I double-click on the gray area of an External MIDI Instrument tracks header— I get the dialog box shown in the attached screenshot. Anyone know what this dialog is for and how its use might benefit a user? Thank You! • Mac Pro 5,1 Mid 2010 • OS X Mojave 10.14.6 • Logic Pro X 10.5.1 • Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 • KORG Triton Extreme
  10. Huh??? Didn't see that one coming, David. I generally think of Logic as being very logically designed and implemented... but not in this instance. Thanks very much for letting me know! Really appreciate it.
  11. Greetings, I'm new to MIDI and use a Korg Triton Extreme keyboard with Logic and I'm trying to understand some strange MIDI playback behavior. I have three tracks to talk about. One is a External MIDI Instrument track pulling its sound from the KORG keyboard. The other two tracks are Logic Software Instrument tracks. With all three tracks in solo— the two Logic Software Instrument tracks turn gray automatically and won't playback, while the External MIDI Instrument track linked to the KORG will playback. If I un-solo the External MIDI Instrument track linked to the KORG, all three tracks playback fine. I'm guessing this is a settings issue with Logic or the KORG, but I'm not sure? I've attached two images that might help explain what I'm trying to covey. Thank You! • Mac Pro 5,1 Mid 2010 • OS X Mojave 10.14.6 • Logic Pro X 10.5.1 • Focusrite Scarlett 18i8
  12. Thanks for the sharing of your time and expertise, Atlas007. I'll review all the content you pointed to and see what I can learn.
  13. Greetings! If anyone knows of an existing post I may have missed on this topic, please do point me to it. All hardware appears to be connected correctly > I can record MIDI. What I hope to learn is how to make a chosen Triton patch stick like glue to a Logic channel strip of my choice, and just work without fuss until I make a change to it. This would be true while I'm working in Logic, or after saving, closing, and reopening a project. I want to be confident that when I assign a particular Triton patch to a particular track it stays put. I'm currently seeing behaviors like the wrong sound from the Triton being played back on the wrong track, or the same Triton sound being played back on two separate tracks having two different Triton patches assigned to them? Some-thing, or things, just aren't configured quite right? Is MIDI Channel selection part of the problem? On the external instrument MIDI channel strips there are two areas to change the MIDI Channel, and I may be wrong but they appear to work separately— if I change one the other doesn't change. I do not understand how these should be set? On the MIDI Channel selector near the top of the channel strip I can choose "All", or numbers 1-16. Lower on the channel strip is a button titled External I. After hitting this button a dialog box appears where I can again choose "All", or numbers 1-16... but here the 16 numbers are joined by the words (1 Korg Triton Extreme). I've tried various combinations of these MIDI Channel options without a breakthough. FYI: In Logic's Recording Project preferences I have checked the check box to enable "Auto demix by channel if multitrack recording", as suggested by a post here on LogicProHelp. I would also be grateful for any MIDI setup suggestions for the Triton's MIDI Setup: (photo attached) Thank you in advance for any suggestions!! • Mac Pro 5,1 Mid 2010 > OS X 10.14.6 • Final Cut Pro X 10.4.6 • Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 • Korg Trition Extreme
  14. Of course... I totally understand, David. My learning style is always video over reading so my intention was to make things easier for everyone... especially after seeing a dedicated YouTube link button. Thanks much for the thorough explanation; I totally get it; I'll whip something up.
