  1. The IOX will be the main input device with 8 useable the mic pres, and the DiGiGrid D gives another two mic pres (10 ins total) and would be the main output to my monitors. The IOX does have a bunch of line outs including 4 heaphone outs but not quite the solution for this context. Especially as I would still need an additional interface with up to 10 ins. I'm convinced there's a network solution out there...
  2. Thanks. That would require two 8/10 input interfaces which I don't have. I was wondering if there might be a solution via a network of sorts.
  3. The title might not be the best way to describe my question so let me explain... I've built myself a really nice Hackintosh running Ventura perfectly. I've also been given access to a DiGiGrid D and an IOX which I would like to use for the preamps (they're brilliant!). In theory this is a simple setup with the use of either Soundgrid Studio or Qrec. In reality, this is the one downside to the Hack. It doesn't like it at all. I'm not looking for help with this, believe me I've tried it all. What I am exploring though and would value some thoughts on, is running the DiGiGrid system on my Macbook (which I know works) and somehow (cue you geniuses) route the output of that audio into Logic on my Hack. Ideally still in multitrack form. Is there a feasible way or am I dreaming here? Thanks Mark
  4. Thanks David. I've found a workaround but will keep that in mind for next time. Appreciate your help. Thank you
  5. Now you ask, there was a dialogue box on import. I think it said that the files were too large for WAV format and was converting to CAF
  6. Hey Folks Working on a new project which has got me a little out of my depth. I'm editing some speech from a video recorded in surround sound via a black magic video switcher. I've imported the video into Logic and extracted the audio. The audio track created defaults to surround and the output also defaults to surround. However on playback, no audio seems to be reaching that channel. The input meters don't move and obviously nothing reaches the output either. What I've tried so far: 1. converted to mono/stereo track 2. routed output to Stereo Output 3. BIP to mono track - interestingly this shows no waveforms on the track at all 4. Had a brief scan over the project settings/surround/audio but I admit I'm out of my depth so not entirely sure what I'm looking for there Help greatly appreciated. Many thanks Mark
  7. UPDATE: after trying a few more things, including both your suggestions the problem seems to be resolved after importing the files into a new session. I don't think that this was a latency issue introduced by plugins as I wasn't running many, or anything that was introducing that much latency. Even when removing all of them completely the issue persisted. All I can put it down to at this point was a bug that creeped its way in to the session over night. Thanks for your suggestions and persistence. This is a great community. Mark
  8. This. Don't leave a project open for hours or overnight. Shut down Logic. Weird things can happen as you experienced. Your project probably got corrupted. Open a new one and use the Import function from the Project Browser to get everything on it. Yeah, you're probably right, and this is next on my troubleshooting list. Thanks!
  9. Then we know it's not a driver or audio interface issue. No, recording delay simply *places* the recorded audio at earlier or later positions - it doesn't affect the reception of incoming audio. If it's just happening in this project, I'm still inclined to think it's plugin related. As a test, open the project, and remove all the plugins completely (as a test) and try it again. Do you get the same behaviour? Have you placed any plugins on input objects? I definitely know it's not a driver issue. It's all worked swimmingly well for the last year and a half. I'll give the plugin removal another try in the morning. It's past my bedtime Thanks for your persistence.
  10. Correct. I'm not running any other programs or utilities, just Logic via the FR as the only I/O device. I know that Screenflow for example can cause a massive latency but it doesn't usually trouble my system anyway. The issue seems to be specific to this particular session. It was running perfectly well yesterday. I'd saved the session but it remained open and on overnight. Today... weird things are happening. It's like the recording delay has been set to maximum samples. Thanks
  11. Thanks guys. As mentioned, this is not a latency issue caused by plugins.
  12. Thanks Guys. I'm still not sure what the issue was but it was resolved when copying it to another track.
