  1. Ok that’s great info! Thanks for taking the time out to write that up. I’ll probably spring the extra to go the 64gb. Also the 2nd bit of advice on system overloads on the Apple support pages state to make sure you have the maximum amount ram so fits in with this discussion.
  2. A year on how are you finding this? I’m about to splash on the M2 Max Mac Studio and just debating 32gb vs 64gb.
  3. Not quite but running a full size X-Touch and Maschine MK3 with no issues.
  4. Super duper, good to know. Makes me feel a little better! Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
  5. That’s what I thought, thanks for clarifying. Out of interest is it common for people to avoid bus and master processing in the early stages of writing due to the possibility of stemming out for a mix at the later stages?
  6. Ok im currently making up some stems from a project and had a quick question. If I stem out a single track that's in a group that has processing on the group bus will that track sound the same as it would have if all the tracks are hitting the bus? As in say I have a Drum Track Stack with 10 tracks in it and a compressor on the bus. If I want to stem out the kick on its own I would bounce going through the Drum Bus to keep the processing but obviously a kick on its own will hit the compressor (or other bus processing) differently than if it was part of other tracks. Does Logic do some intelligent compensation for this or do I just need to plan my sessions better with an eye on stemming out at end before getting onto bus and master processing?
  7. Sorry David, bad explanation from me, I have managed to figure out why it’s happening. I now just have to mindful of the outputs of the bus as above.
  8. Yup that’s it, not a big deal now I know to be aware of it but a bit of a pain trying to stem out older large projects!
  9. 1. create a summing stack from existing tracks 2. Pick any track in the stack and create a bus 3. Load any plug-ins on bus and make sure it’s getting some level in 4. Click on bus channel strip and create track in main window directly below the track in the summing stack it’s receiving signal from 5. Bus should now solo while hearing only wet as expected 6. Repeat above steps in same track stack for 2nd bus and bus will not initially solo due to its output not adjusting automatically.
  10. Project for perusal Bus Test.zip
  11. I think I have part figured it out while preparing my project to upload for you. When I create a track for my first ever bus in the project and drag it into my drum summing stack it auto assigns the bus out put to the summing stack and this means it plays nicely in solo. When I create tracks for any new busses after that it auto assigns the output direct to the stereo out and doesn't change when it appears on arrange page. However if I drag it out the stack and back in again it changes it and it works as expected with solo (or of course if I just change the output manually).
  12. Ok so im going crazy over this, I did do a search but didn't manage to figure it out. Very simply if I create a normal bus with reverb and solo it in the default post pan mode I can hear the wet only signal. Super duper. But then I can do the exact same thing on another track and create a new bus and it wont let me hear the wet without having to change it to pre-fader. I really cant figure out why sometimes I can do this and sometimes I cant. I have tried playing about with different plugins on the bus, audio v midi, different projects etc but no luck.
  13. Pretty sure that's not possible. You could record your vocal and convert it to Midi then run it through vocoder as one option. But imitone mind to melody will do what you want for 20quid and works well with Logic.
  14. Did you ever find a solution to this? Im running an X-Touch (mcc protocol) and have exactly the same issue.
  15. Been messing about with it today as test. I use my X-Touch in single mode with track stacks so the far left fader is always the selected track. Seems Option>Global view on the X-Touch will flip between Arrange and Single mode so better than menu diving. Also shift>X in mixer window will do the same thing. These are probably things most Mackie users already know but thought I would put it up just in case anyone is having to jump into control setup every time.
