    Play chord

Just grab the play head - place it where you want and hit the space bar. playing chords.mp4
  2. try the different replace modes but do not turn on auto punch or cycle as the other recording settings then take precedence ( i believe)....
  3. DanO - after 10 years still nothing........ 1/ make sure for replace mode (region punch is selected) 2/ all other recording settings are ignored when replace mode is enabled 3/ in this mode - when you press record a new midi region is created at the first midi note input for however long there is overwriting midi data, if you record longer with no midi input the region extends without midi data in it - that region is then be reduced WILL NOT replace any notes the region overlapped. This sounds like exactly what you want - take a look at below. What I did was I have 8 bars of quarter notes..... I then (with replace mode enabled and region punch selected (very important) - I started recording. When I get to measure 2, beat 4 - I started to record eighth notes in place of the quarters for 3 beats ( Bar 2 - beat 4 and Bar 3 beats 1 and 2 ) I then let the recording continue without any midi data being recorded for a few beats. when I pressed stop a new midi region was created with only the midi notes I want to over write the existing ones and the midi region did not extend beyond where the last midi input note was done. I think this is exactly what you want... please advise.
  4. Again the beautiful thing is each part is independent. If you want to add an Eb part/instrument - just set the transposing staff style to reflect the that key for the new part.
  5. check to be sure one or more of your tracks / channel strips are not set to surround
  6. yes - but based on your hmmm response..... I feel you think it is concerning.... anyway totally up to you as to your approach - just providing alternatives and solutions to your questions.
  7. So technically - We need to think and separate the "base" key in logic from the key or transposing staff style in the score. So you need it invert your process. make the base/primary key of logic Gb - then using all transposing staff styles - apply those staff styles as needed to your orchestration. I would also enable diatonic insert in the editor mode if you are going to be working across the various staffs concurrently ( more of a preference than requirement ). So if the main key is Gb then your first staff should be assigned a staff style with a transposition of -2 (or +10), and you leave the Bb instrument along. In the attached screen shot - You can see the main key, and the two shaded staff styles with their respective transposition. God I forgot how much I love this stuff 🙂
  8. Ok here is an example in the Key of E with chromatic movement. If this is what you are looking for you - let me know and I will explain how to transpose the staff styles ( not the notes) to achieve this. If not - maybe you could clarify a little better for me with exact examples of what you want the score key signature and notes to look like. Provide a exact correct example (pic) and I will show you how to do it. Let me know...
  9. That is how it has always worked to the best of my knowledge. I too use the set L locator after an option click in page/wrap view as needed.
  10. Nope - you can in the notepads of the track or project but not directly onto the score.....
  11. So as you get more experienced you will likely move to polyphonic staff styles as the provide an immense amount of flexibility. This is the preferred method. 1/ either create or alter the current style to be polyphonic - assign a midi channel to each voice. 2/ now you can use the voice separation tool 3/ or you can use the insert defaults to change the midi channel after selecting the notes you want to move to the other staff. See video below.....
  12. Ok here are the steps. You can use any font that contains gliss's - I used the Bravura font. 1/ Add the Bravura font as a new text style. 2/ from the insert defaults - choose the name of the text style you created with the Bravura font - in my case I called it gregfont. 3/ Drag or insert a text object 4/ Press option + E585 ( for the gliss in the Bravura font) 5/ That will insert the gliss - now you can use the resize tool to change the length of the gliss. Easy peasy right...... See video below.....
  13. No sorry - it is not easy. You must use a text font that contains that symbol. Then include it as a text object - that is the only way to include the type of glass you want at this time. I can try to do a video of that if you would like.
  14. You mean like this.... Nope - sorry that is not currently available - you will have to use the straight line gliss and mark it with text as gliss or use a text font that has the gliss and insert as a text object. 🙂
