  1. I'm getting 403 errors accessing your site from my laptop. It was okay the first time, but then 403'd me on my reply.
  2. Looks like this site didn't post my response of yesterday. Anyway – thanks for all your repsonses! 🖖🏼 The HD is Mac OS journaled, but a First Aid run couldn't unmount it. I moved the project to an SSD and it still had problems. Eventually I bounced in place the TWO audio files (which only had Slate Mixer on them), and deleted every other plugin and bus. I managed to get a new third track down, and continue my work, starting the mix afresh. My guess is the file has some corruption, and the 7200rpm HD is on its way to the big drive in the sky.
  3. I've 32GB RAM and a 3.6GHz CPU, and I run my projects from an external HD 7200rpm. Yet some projects keep tapping out, regardless of the LPX settings – e.g. max buffer setting etc. And on lower buffer settings, the latency makes it impossible to record audio. Between these two issues – even projects that have only 2-4 tracks of audio, no virtual instruments, and a handful of plugins do not work. Please advise.
  4. How to disable 'Quick Help' box in the Inspector? It's quite a faff to keep hiding it each time I open it. Didn't see anything in the manual or on this site. Please advise, thanks!
  5. Thanks for your response – on a weekend no less! I included 'bump' to cover search, as 'click' often brings up metronome posts. There's a quiet crack/ bump/ click during my vocals – audible in solo. The tracks are currently unmixed, so I expect it to be quite audible were I to try and get it past a completed mix. I'm using a Tascam US-1800. PS – Since posting, I've heard it at the same place in other verses, so it could well be 1. Some odd glitch in my head that makes it (!) 2. Perhaps some odd 'hit' on the mic? Though it's not a plosive or sibilant.
  6. This has happened before – I do some audio recording and there's a bump at the same place across all takes. Today. it's during vocal tracking – so not something that can easily be hidden. Naturally, these takes are at different times, so I doubt it's from the building circuit. 1. Any idea what causes this? 2. What solutions are these?
  7. Cheers! Just seen this after posting the solution (for my issue). Details in my post above.
  8. Thanks. I've done the following: –– Transposed each relevant instrument track a semitone –– Use polyphonic on all tracks, including 'single line' types (bass, solo) And that appears to have done the trick. As it happens, I've now added a touch of modulation to the guitars, which at least fools my ears that nothing untoward it happened. Though at first blush they sound fine sans modulation. Thanks to you and all above for your responses.
  9. Thanks. Those do indeed appear to be the options. Or, I wondered today if I can drop the project a semitone using varispeed and redo the vocal, then bring it back to tempo and key. As you would with tape. I have a suspicion it may not work though... Will try it tomorrow.
  10. people here are trying to help... and you did not explain that there were artifacts; read your own posts. It says here: "without slowing it or getting artefacts?" __ I've already done what you described for your tune. It didn't work for mine.
  11. Thanks. So bad news. I didn't want to rerecord the takes as there's a good vibe and lots of improvisation.
  12. How to detune audio track by 1 semitone without slowing it or getting artefacts? I want to keep the tempo. What I've tried so far: 1. Inspector windows detune by -1. This sounds awful on the rhythm guitar and solo. 2. Varispeed detune by 5.61% (one semitone). This slows down the track, even when I selected 'pitch only'. 3. Melodyne the entire track and detune there? The app doesn't respond at all once the audio is captured and detune/ blob move is attempted I didn't see anything relevant in LPHelp or the net. Any ideas? The vibe is great for the two guitars, bass and drums – but the key is too high for the vocal.
  13. Ach! Yes. I've just discovered the track didn't record (mic doubled with DI, which did record). So put it down to FEBCAK – fault exists between chair and keyboard. Thanks!
