  1. Hey David, Thanks for looking at this. The file I was doing the demo in is one of my sketchpads and I have been known to use every bar available at times... (somewhere around 17500 bars I think?) Probably dabbling in alchemy but never an issue actually. Except if I get buggy with time signatures and stuff I have seen material turn grey at the end of one of these 9 hour files. Otherwise long files have never seemed to be a problem, which is a tremendous feat for LOGIC IMHO. I work in more normal length files when focusing on a project. THE GOOD NEWS IS I can report that I have been able to stop the odd behavior by turning off everything in the chase tab. I haven't taken the time to figure out which of those ticked boxes was the culprit, but it seems the problem was in that set of preferences. I'd prefer to use the chase feature on occasion if I choose to... but for now I just turned it all off. Thought I'd answer your questions anyway just for the record... Project sync is the same. The start marker is at zero
  2. Greetings, I'm having a weird issue (which I can't figure out on my own apparently after a week of trying.) I probably clicked something intentionally or otherwise and now MIDI regions are not rendering normally. It's hard to explain so I made a short demo of the problem I'm having. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. barry LOGIC 10.7 M1 MINI Big Sur 11.6
  3. Well, that bliss was short lived. Although it seemed to work initially, something else must be getting in the way because now I can't assign controls at all if I'm not in the guitar channel that the Neural plugin lives in. I also tried running Neural as an instrument and side chaining the audio in but that had no effect on the MIDI control issue. So, I'm back to square one.
  4. Greetings I'm setting up a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI foot controller to control the pedals for the Neural Soldano amp modeling plugin. Currently, my control input only works when the channel strip containing the Neural is selected (active/focused) I want my controller to talk to the Neural plug regardless of which channel strip is selected. I assume there's a way to do this and I'm just missing it. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! barry k USA MAC M1 MINI Big Sur 11.5.2 LOGIC 10.6.3 9.8.21 9:46pm est
  5. Bingo. Thank you Eric. I knew this had to be something simple. All is well here in river city now. Kudos and much appreciation aimed directly at you sir! cheers
  6. Greetings, salutations and advance kudos & appreciation for any light shed on this topic... In previous versions I never had any issues whatsoever with INPUT MONITORING of multiple audio channels simultaneously in LOGIC. Typically for me a combination of mono & stereo audio channels need to me monitored while playing back the entire mix in a live practice/performance scenario. Now in 10.2 this appears to be very difficult to do unless you do some whacky stuff like making a track stack of all the channels you want to monitor and being very patient while LOGIC decides whether or not it feels like delivering audio from the selected channels. I'm getting inconsistent results. Sometimes the monitoring is working for multi inputs - until you hit PLAY and then it mutes. Other times it's not working at all. Other times it seems to work more or less with the restriction of not being able to simply click into whatever channel I like at any time. and... yes I have INPUT MONITORING & SOFTWARE MONITORING enabled. A single SELECTED channel seems to work like normal more or less. In that channel I see an ORANGE "I" button when selected like I'm accustomed to and it works normally. When I try to ADD MONITORING to another channel that is not selected... I see an ORANGE "I" in a GREY BUTTON and NO AUDIO is being passed through even when the button is engaged. Yesterday in a last minute scramble I tried the TRACK STACK (summing) solution - summing the needed audio channels and selecting RECORD READY on each. I was able to get through the session however this is not optimal since the need to add different channels in input monitoring mode is an organic affair here and being forced to do a rain dance every time there is a need for a new monitored input channel is a time waster and source of considerable frustration. Should I not be able to designate INPUT MONITORING any audio channel on a whim and expect it to work? I'm assuming I'm missing something painfully obvious here but as of this moment I'm stumped. Thanks for your time. I'll hang up listen. cheers barry MAC PRO 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC SSD BOOT ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
  7. I've tried to incorporate Soundflower many times and never had any luck. I can merge my entire system audio into an outbound mix easily right in Nicecast by selecting system audio as the source... technically it works but over time latency increases to the point where starts to get in the way. My quest to get the incoming stream into LOGIC via a channel strip is designed to eliminate this issue.
  8. I want be able to monitor a Shoutcast stream (iTunes or Quicktime) in Logic Pro X via a channel strip so I can use it as part of a "cascading" multi stream Shoutcast stream. This is what is commonly referred to as a "cascading dual stream." Where I monitor your shout cast stream and add my part and then stream to Shoutcast to create a (simulated) real time collaboration that can be broadcast to listeners via Nicecast. This is a workaround to the latency issues with doing actual real time dual and multi streaming collaborations. The person providing the original source material doesn't hear me but listeners hear both musicians 100% in sync. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
