  1. thanks david, weirdly enough, if i choose the corresponding midi out channel there are no problems, but if i set the midi in channel in the track inspector to the same channel (that is in the synth) the synth goes crazy with a drone like sound that doesnt stop... sound familiar?
  2. hi everyone, its years later now and hooking up my studio again, but the newer version of logic does not have the 'auto demix' function anymore? Revisiting the same issue now, have several synths set up on their own external midi tracks/channels, but when I play e.g. my prophet, it also triggers the other synths (crosstalk). any tips/tutorials?
  3. no have not copied them somewhere else. weird thing huh? also that some of the projects have some files in them, but not the rest. very dissappointing. Next time probably better to save as folder, and immediately check if the files are thare after recording...?
  4. ouch, when compressing, it does make a file of 350 mb instead of 3.8gb (astro 2).. thats not a good sign is it? i uploaded it and its downloadable here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dkb1u8lvaxmuu8jdaxy66/ASTRO-2.zip?rlkey=9iwgozfdmrdy0g4bw1j9gidxg&dl=0 I fear that I probably won't be getting my audio files back. but can anyone please explain what I did wrong here and how to prevent this in the future? the strange thing is that another project I recorded in the same way afterwards (called astro 3) did include all the audio files in the package, and the first project of the weekend (astro 1) included some audio files, and some not.
  5. Thats very kind, i will upload to dropbox and share the link here later today.
  6. what I don't understand, is that some files are there, and others are not. So it seems unlikely that they were saved elsewhere, since I did not change any project setting during the recording sessions.
  7. thanks polanoid thats the weird thing. I looked inside, and they are not there, only a few of them. The project should be 3.84gb, but the audio files folder within the package only contains 500mb of audiofiles. very weird. another project that i recorded that night does have them all, and the project package file size matches the audio file folder. Am i screwed?
  8. thanks for the suggestion, but my default folder where the project package was saves is on my main SSD and I was not connected to the internet so I don't think it can be backed up to icloud
  9. So I went with my band to record last weekend, I created 3 projects (each band member as audio track via my interface), which I saved as project packages in the default folder, as I always do. When I look at the logic project files now I'm back home, they are all aprox 4gb in size. but when I try to open them, I get a message that 'the audio file ... was not found'. When i click on show package contents of the logic file i indeed see that they are not there, the audio files folders in the project file only has 500 mb worth of audio files, while the total file size is 4gb (which give me hope they can be recovered somehow). Has anyone ever encountered this problem? please advise!
  10. tnx, switching to region automation in the main tracks automation window is a perfect solution! will try it out
  11. Hi everyone! just wanna see if i'm doing things right/optimally here. I connected an external hardware synth (roland tb-03) to my mac via laptop and sending midi to it works fine. I want to draw in automation and control some of the synths parameters via cc. As far as I can tell, the way to do this is open the midi region in the piano roll, and then select automation there, and choose the corresponding cc channel and start drawing. Question 1: is this the right way or is there another better way? Question 2: the midi automation I want to draw is basically an on/off shape, so a horizontal shelf that is the same duration as the midi notes. Is clicking 4 times to create 4 'dots' and dragging them up/down to make this shape the only way to do so? I believe in the track automation view you can use the marque tool, but there is no marquee tool in this (region/piano roll) automation window.. Thanks in advance!
  12. hmm I was afraid of that. I'm attracted to the Maschine mikro for its pads and the drum library that's supposedly very good, and I'd use it as VST within Logic. But when I collaborate with friends (who don't own Maschine), it could make it tricky to share projects. You can probably export the stems to wav, and cut the samples out of that, and paste them in DMD, and then use the midi from maschine. But its a bit of a hassle, yes. wish there was another way! XO does this very nicely.
  13. XO from XLN has an easy feature for this; but how to export the samples from NI Mashine software to DMD in logic easily?
  14. nope, ended up using logic as midi clock master as recommended!
