  1. Hey, thanks for this! I had no idea.
  2. Thank you! This is my Session hard drive. To make more room, is it okay to just delete sessions (after backing up, of course), or is there some "cleaning" method recommended in case the data is fragmented across the drive or whatever? (Can you tell I don't know about hard drives? :))
  3. It's 255 GB capacity with 36.8 GB available.
  4. I can't remember if I did it myself. It's the SSD drive I've been using with Logic since 2013. One of those orange Lacie things. It's MacOs extended (journaled).
  5. Running Logic 10.7.4 on a brand new Mac Studio. Almost every session I open stops loading at "Klopfgeist" and sits there for several minutes. Eventually the load screen disappears and then about 60 seconds later the session opens and it's ready to go. Any ideas? A similar thing happened last week while opening any session created a small window that said something like, "Creating overview for shaker 05.caf" and then that window stayed open continuously -- all through editing and then even if I closed the session and opened a new one. Same "Creating overview..." message. I had to quit Logic for it to go away.
  6. Thank you, Atlas007. Yes I have. And while that works to move the movie/region the first frame of the movie still appears in the movie screen until the playhead catches up to the movie region. Or, in other words, I can't insert black before the movie region.
  7. This has happened to me many times. Yesterday, in fact. It's random when it happens and I haven't been able to find any common features of each situation to help pin down the cause.
  8. I don't use a template. I build every project from scratch. I do, however, always use a full-screen piano roll in a second monitor. I can't recall if the horizontal jumping has ever happened on the rare occasions where I've only opened the small piano roll underneath the arrange window. But I do know for certain that it jumps in the small piano roll when the large one is opened also. (Sometimes I use both piano rolls to edit.) And also, it jumps for me even without a zoom. I'm normally already zoomed in to bar that I'm recording.
  9. Yeah, I'm assuming that not everyone has this? It started in 10.3 and so far I've only heard one person other than you complain. Here's a post about it from last year. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=130556&p=669208#p669208
  10. FYI, I've had this problem for three versions of Logic now. It's still here on 10.4 for me. I've come to expect it. If your playhead is near the midi you want to edit, then when the screen jumps you can get back to your midi by quickly turning on/off the blue follow-playhead button at the top of the screen.
  11. When I've nudged a movie so that it begins at bar 2 (so that the music starts earlier, at bar 1) the first frame of the move still appears (motionless) throughout bar 1, then when the playhead catches up to the movie region the movie begins playing. Is there a way, in Logic, to make no image appear until the playhead actually makes contact with the movie?
  12. In addition, see this thread as an example where disabling Automation Parameter in Read Mode worked for another forum user. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=135562&p=694249#p694249
  13. When 10.4 first came out I had your exact problem. I couldn't work that way. I searched this forum for a solution and found the Autoselect Automation Parameter in Read Mode solution (provided by member Eric Cardenas.) It worked. I no longer have the problem. HOWEVER, now I can't make the problem come back by toggling Autoselect Automation Parameter in Read Mode. It's now as if that setting doesn't do anything. Thank goodness I'm "stuck" in the right mode. There must be some other parameter in conjunction with Autoselect Automation Parameter in Read Mode responsible?
