  1. Can’t listen to it right at the moment (the fiancé and daughter are asleep) but I should be able to give it a listen in about an hour and I’ll respond back and let you know what I think!
  2. I started working on this beat a few days ago, spent about 4-5 hours on it, then yesterday I spent a solid 6 hours finishing it up. I’ve been learning Logic Pro X for about 3.5 years now, and I’m still nothing close to a professional for sure. I’ve spent the last 6 months REALLY focusing on teaching myself the theory behind the music, because I never learned it besides playing trumpet in middle school band for 2 years(so I know notes and knew how to play sheet music then, but as far as keys, chords, and my very inexperienced ear I am a novice). This beat is in the key of G Major, the chords throughout are all Maj7 chords if I remember correctly. **[TL:DR]** I only have a few years experience with Logic Pro X, and barely know much about music theory but I’ve been recently teaching myself little by little so that I can improve on my production skills. I would love some feedback on it both positive and negative; all feedback is helpful for my learning experience!! YouTube link:
  3. Hi everyone. I've been a Garageband user since 2009, and just recently got Logic Pro 9. For my music, my friend creates a beat/instrumental in Fruity Loops on his PC, exports it as an .mp3, I import that .mp3 into Garageband (version 6.0.5), and then we record our vocals within Garageband (with a USB Blue Yeti Microphone). We mix and master (well what we like to think we're doing lol) everything in Garageband, then I open that Garageband file in Logic Pro 9 to bounce it, mainly because of the numerous options. The final tracks sound pretty decent to our ears, but we have noticed that they are slightly quieter than a song professionally recorded. However I do understand that industry music is made using extremely expensive equipment coupled with engineers with several years of experience under their belt, and we're simply amateurs recording songs in Garageband with a USB mic. For example, when I listen to say, a Tyler, the Creator song in my car, at a volume of 24 (in my Camaro) it sounds good. To match that output volume of one of our songs, I have to increase the volume to around 28. Not a significant difference, but a difference nonetheless. I'm running all of this on a Late 2011 13" Macbook Pro with these following specs: --- 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 --- 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM --- 750 GB 7200rpm HDD --- OS X 10.9.4 I will include screenshots I've captured during playback of our most recent song in Logic so that you are able to monitor my levels and see if everything is looking good, or just completely awful. I'll also include links to some of our songs we've put on SoundCloud for playback purposes. Feel free to criticize as extensively as possible! I need to learn more, and the only way that I can achieve that is through criticism! Tell me what I'm doing good, tell me what I'm doing wrong, and tell me what I'm just completely ruining and should be castrated for.
