  1. I have the same problem. Can't believe this would be an issue in Logic.
  2. I can't find a definitive list of the system requirements for logic pro (x). Most specifically, I'd like to know what are the latest versions of logic for all recent OS versions. A google search for "latest logic version" brings up many articles about 10.5, although 10.6 clearly exists. I also searched the app store and apple's website, but I could not find anything that tells me what the absolute latest version of Logic is. (I'm interested in the minor revisions, so "10.6" is not a good answer - I'm looking for something like"10.6.3 r1137") A simple list similar to this: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/compatibility/en343311?popup=true&retURL=%2Fpkb%2Farticles%2Fcompatibility%2FPro-Tools-System-Requirements is what I'm looking for. Thanks Jack
  3. I am on 10.5.1 - unfortunately I am still waiting for some plugins to support Catalina, so stuck on 10.14.6.
  4. I have a file that reproduces the problem. I created a new project, added one instrument track, picked an instrument, recorded some notes. Open piano roll editor. Make sure that catch playhead button is off. (I also verified that all of the options to turn on catch playhead were disabled - by right-clicking on the catch playhead button) Put it in cycle mode (I hit the "U" key) Start play back. Select any of the MIDI notes in the piano roll editor. I put a video of the bug and the project file here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/goq3s6cyogevvmg/AACfQ1oHgqMnzFMyT5CILrMra?dl=0 I would *soooo* love a fix for this one. It really messes up my workflow.
  5. I am also vexed by this bug. Very annoying. Seems to happen when I select midi notes in piano roll editor.
  6. Now I have the opposite problem... I'm setting up a sidechain. I setup a new prefader send on my snare, and I want to use that to duck my synth. So, I set up a compressor on the synth channel, and set it up so that the sidechain input is set to the snare send just mentioned. Now I should be able to solo the synth and tweak the compressor parameters to get the sound I want, but when I solo the synth, the incoming sidechain signal goes away. This seems like a bug to me as the mute and solo functions should be at the same point in the signal flow as the fader. I got around this by solo-safing the unused aux that got created when I created the new bus. Now it works as expected. Very strange stuff.
  7. I have several tracks with post-pan sends going to a reverb bus. I have my reverb return set to solo safe so that when I solo a track, I also hear its reverb. The problem is that I hear all of the (post-pan) reverb sends from all of my non-soloed channels. I notice the mute buttons are blinking for all tracks *except* the ones that have a reverb send. Is there a way to fix this? work around it? File a bug? File a feature request? It's hampering my mix workflow... Thanks Jack
  8. I thought about that (saving a project with all my favorite patches), but I don't think I can even audition the patches from there. I really want to be able to enter in a midi part and then audition the different bass patches with or without the rest of the mix. Another option would be to save my bass patches as user patches, but that would also be much slower than what I'm trying to do. But that's not the point of this thread - I was merely trying to report what looks to be a very obvious bug. Is there a way to formally file a bug against Logic? Thanks Jack
  9. I *was* (trying to) use the button on the instrument slot to turn on/off the individual tracks. The button changes color, but it does not turn off the track. The on/off buttom on the summing track works fine (turns all summed tracks on/off). I don't know how this could not be a bug - I can turn all of the instruments off and yet they still sound. (???)
  10. I set up a summing track stack with about 20 instrument tracks (with all my favorite bass sounds). The idea was to make it easy and quick to choose a bass patch (or patches) when starting a song. I recorded some MIDI and put that on the master track, so that all the tracks are playing the same part. In order to conserve CPU power, though, I need to be able to turn all of them off and then turn on the ones I need. Unfortunately this doesn't work. The on/off buttons respond as expected, but I am always hearing all of the tracks at once. Also there is no change in the CPU meter. The mute buttons work as expected. Looks like a bug to me.
