  1. support has been great so far but it sounds like im a firmware update behind now so I need to update! Still no fix on my end. I just sent them 6 videos of them asking for things for me to test and then 3 random stuff that i thought maybe would be useful. hopefully I get an answer soon. thankfully unlike teenage engineering and the ko2 fadergate situation they actually seem to be acknowledging something is going on.
  2. Thank you for the suggestion. I saw when I ran it through the test mode it says its high powered or something like that. I'm awaiting a response from nektar I sent them some videos of what was going on and hoping they can get to the bottom of it. I could be misinterpreting the results as someone who knows nothing about any of this but when I ran the controller in the test mode the fader functioned perfectly. I wasn't getting any friction but maybe that mechanism doesn't kick in without control core and logic launched so take that with a grain of salt. So upon brief tests covering my hand with my sweatshirt and using the fader everything seems to function so I'm going to see if nektar gives me any suggestions but it could be as simple as wrapping the fader in a cloth or rubber. Also noticing that im having a variation of the idle bug david described in his article when I tabbed to my browser (brave) to write this the controller seems like its no longer functional and goes to the home screen. Tabbing back to logic or pressing buttons on the cs 12 doesn't change anything. If you leave logic is there a sleep mode of some kind?
  3. Okay your tutorial you posted is making me want to put in the effort to get this thing working. Going to follow nektars steps and I’ll post back if I have any success or not. David as per usual fantastic article.
  4. Only via usb. Tried plugging it into my usb hub with included usb cable and a usb c cable to the back of the Apple studio display and neither have worked. Again the support has been incredible. They’ve talked to me about this and have provided an incredible list to trouble shoot. In my particular circumstance I just don’t think it’s worth the effort. There’s one or two easy trouble shoot recommendations they gave me. Going to try those and see if it’s better before I give up. I have a second laptop charger and can easily try a second outlet with that charger or try it in a different room with my laptop but the other steps are pretty tedious
  5. Yes I’m having a major issue. Nektar support is 10/10 on the support they’ve offered for my problem. (Fader doesn’t work without touching metal in hand that I’m not using fader on.. yes I need to have my offhand touching metal to get the fader to work) it’s non responsive, clunky, has immense friction like there’s sand in the fader. While nektar support could not be better I don’t think I should have to try plugging things into different outlets in the wall and undo my cable management just to see if it makes the fader work. Super jealous of all the YouTube videos I see where people’s fader works as advertised. I'm probably just salty but again ektar support is 10/10 and could probably get me through this issue it’s just not an easy troubleshoot for my studio.
  6. hey! so i have a midi 2.0 keyboard. the korg keystage 61. I absolutely love it. But i need to stress while logic is midi 2.0 capable most AUv3 instruments dont have any midi 2.0 implementation. when i say most i mean most. this is going to be one of the most quality of life things ever when everything will have the implementation but logic having it is just the first stage of the process. I would think this is 2-3 years from full adoption until more daws implement it. i wonder if @TChandler can chime in on this. i believe a nektar dev said at namm that the cs12 for example is capable of midi 2.0 but its not midi 2.0 currently. seems interesting to me that this is a slower adoption from all companies from the hardware side to the software side. i mean you watch the midi association people talk about midi 2.0 like its going to change everything. I want these features asap as a user. so whats the reason its being adopted so slow?
  7. Hey there is an official video here: and a bit of a humorous unofficial video here: Just wanted to share can delete if already posted.
  8. Tiago I’ve been having this issue. I’ve been assuming it’s a bug. I’m newer to logic compared to some of these veterans. But if you switch to the gain tool you will probably find like me some of your samples are lowered I think a lot of mine are -8.4db on import and only visible with gain tool. Idk if it’s importing meta data that maybe some of my samples have somehow or if it’s just a bug. But it’s only with my untagged Apple Loops.
  9. Just got a new one for Cory Wong. Another notification. Hopefully we see these in the next Mac logic update.
  10. I thought I had been going crazy. this is happening about 50% of the time for me too! 13.6.1 x M2 mac. I also use chain view one plugin mode if that makes a difference.
  11. I mean I absolutely love the display. As far as the the vesa mount thing it really depends if you have a desk you can clamp an arm onto if not your going to have to get a monitor stand (plenty of tilt and height adjustable ones on amazon that are much cheaper then apples) they dont look as good for sure but i promise this is a regret of mine personally. Its a display I plan to keep for 5-10 years as i think most people who buy this display use it like that and I just stress that I think the vesa mount stands are better as they let you configure to whatever future setup you have perfectly. also just saves you money. Tilt and Height Vesa tilt and height adjustable for 80$
  12. Yeah just feels like it would be a lot cleaner if you just saw for example, kick, snare, tom, hats, cymbals, percussion categories. For example, in the first picture you linked instead of having a lot of other stuff listed like I mentioned things like jazz and country to just see the drum types. There are country and jazz drums i would use but I would rather those drums be listed under sub categories like kick, snare, tom, hats, cymbals, and percussion categories as a brief example and not see categories like genre. It's not that I can't currently find kicks singled out in the loop browser, I can. But its more an issue that there is so much fluff categories around the kick category. I just think it would be quicker to browse the sample I want this way. Its very minor to me if its not there currently but it would be cool if it was and I didn't know about it. At least once a month my jaw drops after thinking "logic can do that? wow" so figured I would ask.
  13. Hello, is there a way you can hide apple loops sub categories? For example in apple loops with column view my path is All -> All Drums -> and here I see a lot of stuff I would rather not see. I don't care about genre specific drums more then just seeing the different drum types for example.. Can I hide a category like country or jazz? It seems like theres some differences between column view and button view button. I look at Ableton 12 and there tagging system and it looks pretty cool it makes me want to maybe take the time to tag my apple loops but if theres no control of the categories I feel like its probably easier to do on the finder or sample manager side of things?
