Doesn't work for me either, but I never use it that so wouldn't notice. I prefer to grab physical controls for the most part, but don't mind the odd bit of mouse tweaking where necessary. I remember you can get macOS trackpad preferences to let you drag faders, so it's possible some macOS mouse settings perhaps enable this feature.

Yep, my Powerbook G4 was underpowered compared to my PC at the time. But it was a Mac, it was mobile, and it was glorious! But switching to Intel was a great move (as was leaving it again). Fun times!

It's pretty much a standard in pro apps across the board, from Photoshop, to Nuke, to Media Composer to Pro Tools... If you need a hot pink Logic, there is LPX Colouriser app you can use to customise your installation and tweak the colours to taste... There's no current way to colour the full faders, like you can in Pro Tools etc, unfortunately.

Logic Pro (6.4 I'm fairly sure) was the version they rolled all the optional plugins in (as a result of the Apple buyout) - and it was the first rebrand from "Logic Audio Platinum" to "Logic Pro". I remember happily spending the upgrade fee, which was half the cost of Space Designer alone previously, and it was also the first time I moved to the Mac - so it was happy days all around! I actually liked a lot of design work emagic did back then, both print and on-screen, but these weren't their finest moments...

Have you revisited it recently, or are you just going from memory? I liked it at the time too, but if you go back and actually take a look, I think you'll find it's *really* ugly - the world has moved on, and UI's just got better. And still though we're stuck with these abominations from that era: (Don't tell me - you like those too! 😮😜) "Dear Tim Cook, I just bought a new Apple silicon Mac and Logic - they're both amazing, but... seriously... WTF is *this*? (insert this screenshot)"

They have - Logic 10.x has made continual design evolutions over it's life, colour and UI changes since it's debut as version 10.x (which itself was a massive change to 8.x/9.x, which was a massive change to 7.x). LPX and FCPX share some Apple pro apps design language, and that evolves over time as well (and will continue to evolve), the trend has been to flatter design (the first versions of LPX were very dark and very bevel-ey). A continual evolution forward is imo generally better than scrapping everything you have and doing something new, unless there are *really* good reasons to do so - which do happen, and in the case of Apple apps, most of the big design changes did have these - too deep a rathole to go into here right now though. I think some people though think they want novelty, but then complain when things have changed, which is just human nature. Personally speaking I'm happy with a slower evolution, and it's easier to deal with, than complete rethinks which often come with some version .0 baggage (as Logic 10.0 did for sure). And if macOS next has some design language changes in their pro app frameworks, I'm sure Logic and FCPX will take advantage of those on those systems too. Then there are bigger UI things that aren't really about UI frameworks, but improving things like waveform drawing and so on, and I think most of us would welcome these things.

The Library icon, far left, looks different to me. And yes, so does the Inspector icon next to it - but I was mostly referring to the Library icon.

Interestingly, Apple didn't update *all* their Logic marketing images on the Logic page on their site, they just made new ones where they needed to feature the new stuff. The new Library browser icon is the giveaway here... ☺️👍

Indeed, I didn't mean the request was unreasonable. 👍 I don't think file formats are the issue though - almost everywhere will take high quality files, compressed or not. You can't really go wrong with a WAV file these days! I thought it was more about loudness specs and so forth... By platforms I thought you meant delivery targets (eg, Spotify), rather than file formats...

It's probably quite difficult to establish a set of output presets for platforms at a moment in time, because platforms often change their requirements over time. It's really on the engineer to make a mix they're happy with, and then determine the delivery requirements of the services they are delivering to, and output the required versions - that's really part of the mastering job, to understand, and deliver for, the required targets.
