Trim seems to change the overall level of the automation while relative changes it based on the current level, but that seems to amount to the same thing? How are they different?

Is there a limit to the total level you can send to a VCA fader before it starts to clip? There's no meter, so there's no way to track how much signal is being sent from all the different tracks to it. I'm guessing that it would start clipping when it reaches the 32-bit float upper limit.
