  1. 10.6.2 PDC fiasco. Opened an older song and that's way out of sync with compensation set to all in 10.6.2. No problem in 10.6.1 (that I notice) How my mixing 'template' works. Audio track Kick > output buss 1 Audio tracks drums/percussion > output buss 2 Audio track(s) bass(synth) > output buss 3 Audio tracks all the rest except effect auxes > output buss 4 Buss 32 sidechain bus with no output get Kick, percussion and bass from their aux sends. Buss 1 gets kick, has compressor (183 samples) sidechaining to buss 32 Buss 2 gets percussion, has compressor sidechaining to buss 32 Buss 3 gets bass, has compressor sidechaining to buss 32, has multiband sidechaining to buss 1 Buss 4 gets the rest Buss 5 gets vocals, has soothe (4096 samples) removing soothe doesn't do anything. I used to do the effect auxes to another buss but now I mostly go into stereo so I avoid busses going into busses and only go 1 level deeper. The song is out of sync unless I remove the compressor sidechaining. I use this method also when mastering my live tracks. The reason why my mix is setup like this is because of future backing tracks for live performances: Kick - Percussion - Synths Back to 10.6.1 I emailed apple logic feedback Mac Pro 2013, Big Sur 11.3, Metric Halo ethernet ULN-8
  2. Apple replied, I send my session. While cleaning the session I found the problem. The delayed bus (1) had a bypassed send that went to an aux (2) which was routed back to buss (1). So when I removed soothe, pdc was ok or when I removed the bypassed send (2) it was ok. That kinda messed up Logic's PDC.
  3. I wanted to post this yesterday but I thought it was user error... I have tracks which have auxes. The tracks go into a bus The auxes go into a seperate bus (auxes bus) If i have a plugin like soothe in the "auxes bus" the PDC does not work and it is delayed. Is this a logic limitation or soothe's fault? I can only go 1 bus deep for heavy plugins?
  4. The behaviour how it was pre 10.4.5 is back in 10.4.6!
  5. All the 8 meters would be showing activity and now it doesn't anymore and I get more cpu errors. Buffer is at max. It seems that 7 & 8 are not being used anymore for tracks. Maybe it has always been this way and the meters didn't show specific functions. I get certain cpu spikes and I can't figure out what's causing it. Everything's fine at around 30% and than suddenly 1 thread goes way up and logic stops and 2 threads can be empty.
  6. To follow up on 10.4.6's different cpu handling processing threads. Out of 8 1 to 6 are for tracks and auxes 7 is for masterbus and 8 is not being used anymore???
  7. Is the cpu threading different with anyone else? I only see 6 out of 8 doing anything. If I put an effect on the main output 7 starts to move. If i remember correctly all 8 would work before this update? I get faster out of cpu messages.
  8. Ok found out how it is different now. I need to select the aux and than hit "read"... now it appears. I used to do it this way: Select a track where I want the aux to be next to and hit "read" on the aux.
  9. Sometimes I want auxes to appear in the main window. I like to re-arrange stuff and I can't find how to move tracks in the mixer window. To do this in the past I pushed read and it would appear in the main window (same with VCA). That doesn't happen anymore... This way I can not write automation in aux tracks.

    Midi out of sync

Hi, I'm trying to figure out why the midi doesn't or has a wrong latency compensation? If I live record midi it doesn't monitor correctly and if I play that it is out of sync. If I record the hardware device playing that midi, it does record audio correctly in sync. It is always with audio tracks ofcourse. If I bypass the effects on those audio tracks it does play midi correctly. This wasn't happening some versions ago. Midi and audio was latency compensated correctly I believe. All the settings should be correct and I believe it is a bug. I have the latest Logic Pro X version and latest High Sierra running Apogee element. Any ideas?
  11. ok right, probably got it confused with all those folders. Just looked at it and indeed no "user data"
  12. Thank you. You think it would be better to move any samples of mine (from the past) that are in the root/Library/Application Support/Logic into the ~/Music/Audio Music Apps It might work now but I see it happening in future disk driver/system os/logic updates messing things up. The same thing with the root/Library/Audio/Presets and it's user ~ version. Why is it still there... cheers Kevin This is the one that is used by Logic Pro 9. You should not run into any problems if you are missing this folder. The important one is the ~/Music/Music Apps Folder. Everything should be "ok-ish" as long as that one is intact.
  13. Ok , so I did come across not to remove anything from "Library/application support/logic" folder. (I have no user/library/application support/logic folder anyway). So it seems those 2 folders still work hand in hand.
  14. Hi some things weren't clear by reading all this, Where should all the settings and samples be in? /Music/Audio Music Apps ? and copy all from Library/application support/logic to that user folder? Is alias linking still allowed? I have my samples on a different HD and from where should they be linked? In the "audio music apps folder" or the "application support logic folder"? Recently switched the main computer to High Sierra and I'm receiving cpu/disk errors on even small sessions. (seems to be more disk error for no reason) And a very few plugins not working. and another question: that hidden folder's contents, may it be deleted?
  15. Regarding the zoom in or out...it happened in both ways. Thanx David...didn't solve it but you showed me a way what to check.
