  1. Thanks for the replies! I just figured it out.. after noticing some people saying to remove all other devices from the controller setup.. I thought that the iPad remote and iPhone remote were harmless, harmonious controllers. I deleted both of them and it starting working immediatly! Thanks again for your feedback! cheers
  2. Thanks Atlas, I appreciate the feedback. I've tried them out before. My problem is I typically have 3 or 4 plugins on a channel, and the smart controls only handle up to 12 settings per channel. What i love about the idea of the mackie control is it adapts to whatever sets of plugins that might be there. After playing around with it more, i'm beginning to think that the current version of Logic has a problem with the plugin function, cuz everything else seems to be working. cheers!
  3. Hi guys, I've built a custom midi controller with standard Mackie Control cc commands for use with Logic Pro X. I can get most everything to function as it should, basic transport, and things like the EQ are all working with my encoders. The one thing i can't get working is controlling plugin parameters. I understand that when the plugin button command is sent (CC 43) it's supposed to activate the plugin mode, and give display the track inserts for the 8 encoders. I've tried multiple variations of pressing the plugin button then pressing vpot 1 or whatever, but to no avail. Again, for the EQ section CC44 activates the EQ and the VPOT's work. So i'm pretty confused. (Actually the CC44 command is sent 4 times for it to trigger properly, ((on, off, on, off)) Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Daniel
  4. Thanks so much David. I'm trying to digest everything that's being said in there now.. It's really great info i haven't seen anywhere else. Have you had any luck with it, in terms of maybe what i'm trying to achieve, with a rotary encoder knob controlling plugin knobs?
  5. Would these concepts work with setting an environment range for a 14 bit rotary encoder to control plugin knobs?
  6. Hi guys, I've been building a midi controller and have it sending 14 bit messages to Logic Pro X using a rotary encoder knob. I've just gotten to actually read correctly, with an incoming Hi and Low message. The 14 bit messages are showing up in Logic Pro X's Controller Assignment area. Only under the Controller Value section, i can't seem to change it to more than 127. I'm looking to get finer increments for plugins, right now, everything is stuck in subdividing to 127 steps. Anybody know if I need an extra midi message to declare a range, or if i can get logic to accept more than 127? thanks!
  7. Hi Guys. I love this post. I'm having a little trouble getting results in Logic Pro X. I've been building my own Midi Controller, and now have gotten it to send 14 bit messages. In Logic Pro X, i'm not seeing the "Control Settings" (screenshot from your original post). So i'm not sure how to control the High Value and Low value to allow for more that 127 steps. I can see my controller properly sending the Hi and Lo as 14 bit in logic, but it still is reading as 127 steps. Any thoughts?
  8. Hi guys, I've been wondering about this myself. Any idea's on how to make this happen? cheers!
