Hey guys, my Logic Pro X has been running very slow for as long as I can remember, and I don't know what the reason could be anymore unless I'm doing something fundamentally wrong.
I used to use an iMac 13,1 with Logic Pro X 10.4.2 and I would have the same problems, but my current system is a Mac Pro 6,1, on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 running Logic Pro 10.4.3.
Despite my threads being set to 12 or auto (I've flipped between both), and my buffer size at 128-- I still get a lot of lag at all stages. Moving audio files, copying plugins-- etc. It feels like Im playing crysis at 20fps every time I complete an action. Furthermore, I have CPU overloads-- but I'm only using audio tracks in the project where I'm recording.
Since my iMac, I have gotten a different interface (Scarlett 2i2 to 6i6), a different computer, a different usb for the interface, a different mic cable, and tried every setting I could think of to keep things running quickly, but it feels like my computer is just way slower than the specs should indicate, just for logic.
The main cpu hog I can imagine is having stacks of vocals with autotune on but even then-- having like 5 tracks of autotuned vocals shouldnt be overloading my cpu should it?
Along this line, I also get frequent clicks and pops in my audio-- which results in a lot of unwanted artifacts, but despite having changed all the gear-- I still cant seem to record popless vocals. My interface and computer are being powered from the same extension cable (so theyre the same power source) so I didn't think that'd be the issue.
Completely lost, would appreciate any help-- I can post whatever screenshots / logs are needed.
Thanks in advance,

(Edit: Rest of gear is jus a shielded XLR cable running the Aston Origin into the Focusrite 6i6, and Mac Pro 6,1 is 6 core Xeon E5, 32gb Ram, 2 Firepro D500s, and I have a 512gb ssd of which about 20gb is free at the moment)
