I have faced this problem for some time, I agree with everyone who complains about it. The big question we have in Logic Pro that makes it impractical for certain purposes is the difficulty of keeping a record active when we want to deactivate another or activate another. So saving in the same group, I think would not solve the issue, because many times we want to work with each track individually, active or deactivating at certain times of a song playing. In Studio One 4 (better than in Cubase), for which I'm slowly migrating because of this, it's totally possible, right in the face, to target certain tracks and even to which controller we want to direct it and with simple click activate and remain activated while we wish, and selecting other tracks never deactivates the one we want to be activated or vice versa. No logic pro becomes even more difficult when we are working with audio track and midi track together. I always use an audio channel to receive the sounds from my non-controller keyboard, but I never open a project with audio activated, even seeming to be a match between the audio and midi tracks. Logic is a powerful tool that nevertheless self-limits when it inserts a lot of automation into the channel activation, which could even exist, but without the option of manual control.
