  1. I should have clarified. This was after I mastered: EQ, multi-band compression, exciter, and limiter. So it has some fairly good mastering and healthy peak to average signal ratio... it was just that because it's a more ambient, film score type piece, it was peaking way below 0 dB, in fact the highest peak was around -4 dB. So, it seemed to me, raising it to close to 0 does nothing to affect dynamic range, in no way compresses, just makes the average signal level louder. I wondered if people always brought it up close to 0 before releasing, even in the case of more atmospheric music.
  2. That's great info fuzzfilth! Sounds like you sync music to picture a lot?
  3. Even film score or more ambient type stuff? Sometimes I'll finish a mix and it's peak RMS level is like -3. dB. Would you always boost that so it peaks around 0 or -.1? If not, tell me about why not. Thanks so much.
  4. These are excellent, in my opinion. Super grateful they are available... I don't own the synth yet, and might get a Voyager over the Sub37 anyway, but these patches are beautiful and funky and aggressive.
  5. Super intrigued about that. So could I for example load in a vocal sample, then create a playable instrument based on that?
  6. That's great, thank you. Sample Alchemy sounds interesting.
  7. A quick note: I just tested the USB cable (and USB C adapter) with an older M Audio 88 key controller I have, and it worked fine. So it's not the cable.
  8. Has anyone tried to use this synth as a controller via USB? I can connect it to my Macbook via USB and it powers on, no adapter plugged in, so I know the USB port sees the UltraNova. I also tried using its MIDI out to control another synth and as MIDI in to Logic, and that works fine. My intention though, is to use the UltraNova with no MIDI interface at times when I'm away or traveling, and still practice and play parts into Logic. I can't get it to respond to USB at all. I tried Garage Band also, nothing seems to recognize it as a MIDI controller. Has anyone had experience with this instrument? It would be so nice if I can get it working. Tell me please, is there a way to check if Mac OS even sees it as a controller? I tried opening Audio MIDI Setup and going to MIDI Studio. I don't know how to tell from there if I'm having any success. Thank you for any thoughts.
  9. Can you tell me please how to export / save my key commands? I'm fast with Logic but would be crippled without these. Thank you.
  10. Got it, thank you David and Des. I had done that before, in one case I wanted to route all instrumental tracks except drums to one bus and then to the output... I'm curious, do you think it takes up much additional processing power, to route everything to an additional bus, and that to Out 1&2?
  11. Ah, thank you. Yes I'm aware it can't do anything if it's after that part in the signal chain, that's why I posted this. So if I want to move the entire mix up or down before the output limiter, it seems I will need to create a separate bus track and send all tracks to it, then output that to Out 1&2.
  12. Does the Master fader precede Out 1&2? I was hoping it did, because I had a song where I wanted to ramp up volume at the very end, last few seconds of the song so the Master fader was automated to increase to +.6 dB. However, I've got an Izotope Ozone maximizer plugin as the last thing in the chain on Out 1&2 fader set to a ceiling-.1 dB, so i assumed that would stop the audio from going over 0 dB. However, when the Master fader gets to that point where it ramps up to .6, I get overs on the final output. Is there a better way to do this? Maybe I'm mistaken, and the Master fader comes after Out 1&2. Thank you for any replies.
  13. Yup, did exactly this: MacOS From: /Users/USERNAME/Documents/IK Multimedia/AmpliTube 4/presets/ To: /Users/USERNAME/Documents/IK Multimedia/AmpliTube 5/presets/ It's good info at their site. just some kind of glitch that it doesn't load. I don't mind that it would sound a bit different, as the disclaimer states, but loading up that patch would be really helpful. Yeah, hoping to get a hold of them. Anyway, thanks again for chiming in.
  14. You're right, thank you, he does say he's on Mac. I thought maybe PC since his file system was different. On mine it's Username> Library > Audio > Presets>IKMultimedia, and from there I found the preset folder for both 4 and 5. However, yeah... it seems not to work despite putting those presets. Someone must have negotiated this. Hopefully someone else will chime in. Thank you again.
