  1. Hi David, Thank you Is there a way to tell whether the vocals were mixed in the centre? Would I use the phrase reversal method to remove vocals recorded in the centre?
  2. Hello, I am looking for free choir samples where one note is sung by one voice (not the whole choir). Ahh's and ooh's or eh's. Thank you!
  3. Hello, If I have a chord progression that goes IV -- iii6 --- I. The bass motion is 4 5 1. 4-5 is strong bass motion (up a second), so is 5- 1 (down a fifth). The root motion is 4 3 1. 4 -3 is considered weak root motion (down a 2nd) and 3 -1 is strong (down a third). Which motion is actually driving the progression , the root motion or the bass motion? THANKS!
  4. What are the best 21st century harmony books to read? Ones that have explanations for Beatles progressions, The Police, pop music conventions, Radiohead, etc... Basically a mix of conventional harmony and evolution of harmony use from 1960's onwards.... Thank you!
  5. Hello, I am wondering what the best file type is for removing vocals from a track. If I have a flac file, what format should I convert it to to ensure vocals are removed as much as possible? I take a song and separate it into left and right mono. Then I invert the phase of one of the channels. I understand that mp3s have vocals on both channels that's why when I invert the phase of one, the vocals are not fully removed. Am I wrong for thinking that better quality formats will have vocals only on one channel and therefore enable me to remove vocals fully from a track? Or does the placement of vocals not change with the change in format of a song? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
