  1. In case this helps anyone who also encounters this, I updated from Mac OS 13.6 to 13.6.2 and that fixed the problem and retrieved the drive space.
  2. Hi All, I moved my Logic library to an external SSD yesterday but it didn't free up any space on my hard drive; my Mac doesn't seem to recognize that the files have been deleted. And I believe that they are deleted: I'm not seeing them in the library on my internal HD and instead there is an alias that leads to my external drive. The Move Sound Library feature in Logic also thinks they are on the external drive. I have emptied the Trash and restarted a couple times. After the first time, the "About this Mac" feature in the Finder showed the space as being available, but it's not: Disc Utility shows the space as still not available and "Move Sound Library" shows the space as unavailable. In other words, it's reporting that I don't have enough space to put back the library that I only moved yesterday. (Not that I want to move it back.) Has anyone ever encountered something like this? Thanks for any help!
  3. Thanks--I have seen that one (among several others) listed on Amazon.
  4. Hi Everyone, Despite owning a couple MIDI keyboards, I don't know much about MIDI and what you can do with it, other than that when I play notes, they trigger samples. Or that you can map a hardware controller to software instrument controls. I would like to learn more, particularly about things like MIDI channels and how to use them, particularly related to articulations, maybe modulations, etc. And possibly about other things I don't even realize are possible. Does anyone have a book they'd recommend? I'm pretty focused on the practical aspects rather than super-technical details, but I also know that I don't even know enough to ask particularly intelligent questions at this point. Thanks! AG
  5. Same--but then the keychain access didn't seem to work. I need to check further.
  6. True enough; I was more than slightly surprised to see it.
  7. Guessing the release is imminent (though not yet showing on my 'puter). Have they ever announced a new version of Logic before without it being available within hours?
  8. How does one upgrade to El Capitan? The only option that I'm aware of for a Yosemite user is to go straight to Sierra (which I don't know if I want to do).
  9. Google: Apple Logic Pro White Paper. There are two, both useful.
  10. Did you remember to "Bypass All Control Surfaces"?
  11. Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere, but I just noticed this white paper on loop manipulation as well: https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/docs/alchemy_for_creative_loop_manipulation_0818.pdf
  12. Yes, that's exactly it. And why the "white paper" was so useful, for me at least. With so much complex routing etc., I find going through examples very helpful.
  13. I have read the white paper and played some with Alchemy. I love it. It's pretty complex, however. So while the white paper helped a lot, Alchemy could really use a full manual of its own. I'm looking forward to Apple updating its Logic iBook manual to 10.2. I realize there is that online help section, but personally, I could use more than that.
  14. I've encountered this bug also. Oddly, a few loops seem to work OK, while with many I have the exact problem others have discussed. Some MIDI loops, for example, that use the Downtempo kit or one of the Hip-Hoppish/EDM kits come in with all notes seemingly still there.
