  1. thats a good idea too mate appreciate that - ideally would be amazing to find way to do it as ive been rehearsing as its hard jumping from window to window manually but its definitely the best option ive got so thanks if anyone else has ideas that be great it never used to be an issue on previous versions of macOS and logic/mainstage so its obviously something thats new - I hope not a glitch but a simple button to press to fix...
  2. actually any more help would be greatful from others - alas the transport thing disrupts workflow quite a lot as I need to flip between the two screens thanks in advance!
  3. thanks fuzzfilth for quick reply - yes I suppose that is one temp workaround ! annoying as can't make logic go that small so does affect the screen size quite a lot EDIT - ACTUALLY You're right with the transport float - makes all the difference ! you're a super star mate - probably saved my career cheers
  4. Hey guys got a big BBC intro show tonight and im having trouble....! help! I'm running Logic and MainStage side by side with Logic playing backing tracks and sending midi via IAC to automate MainStage. After a few minutes of playing the sequencer in logic seems to glitch and slow down out and it appears to be a synchronisation issue I run logic in the background fullscreen with MainStage in the fore. It seems to be something to do with logic working in background as when its always in the foreground (on the screen) it appears to work. Could it be something to do with how macOS saves CPU on background apps? Any help today would be much much much appreciated !
  5. Hi guys, I'm using Logic as live sequencer (alongside MainStage) live and have arrangements set up as songs which is handy because moving arrangements moves tempo information so reordering tracks is quite easy... ...except I have a few songs in 6/8 and when I move these arrangements the time signatures don't move as expected - for example an unwanted 1/4 time signature (who would ever use that) is created for the arrangements that are next to the arrangements original position . (see image). any help on how to setup arrangements with time signatures properly would be much appreciated!
  6. Thanks for your reply David! Yeah the X-Touch is in Mackie Control mode (is that the same as MCU?) and yes it seems to be working fine other than that - just bit scary seeing the Midi Out Activity freak out when I press play. When The X-Touch is not in MC mode it doesn't glitch out but the LED's don't light up properly so figured MCU mode was the best way to use it...? On the CS Controller Assignments page I've tried to find where 1, 64 is mapped to to disable it but can't seem to find it. thanks again for your help David!
  7. Hey guys small question... I have my x touch mini connected to logic. I have it assigned to Control Surface Mackie Control When Playback is enabled the midi out flashes crazily around CC 64 then jumps to 65 for a bit and flickers around the 40/50 mark. (see attached image) Not sure if this will affect anything but wanted to check as using logic into MainStage for live so want to make sure no glitches at all.. be great to know how to stop this from occurring. many thanks!
  8. Points above taken. I've calmed down... But if Apple could just sort out the many glitches and the drum names issue - ie map the drum names in piano roll to track names in DMD, and fix the browser so its not laggy when browsing through samples, and perhaps a hot swap/audition function - oh and also fix the smart controls for external assignments so they work when sub stack tracks are selected, then DMD would be up there as one of the best drum programming options... but as is...it's frustrating and confused! I guess I'm just frustrated because it could so easily be a perfect choice for beat programers if they addressed these core issues. rant over
  9. It's 2018. Yet the most simple of drum machine programming in logic is painful, slow, laggy, glitchy, backwards in 10.4 'Drum names' in piano roll often appear wrong/glitched when dragging samples, from a very slow glitchy laggy file browser (especially when playback is enabled) onto drum cells. (see image below) There is no sample auditioning and when you undo from the undo history window it doesn't undo and reload the the previous patches. The drum names also dont go over 25 (which is a limitation of under the hood Ultrabeat) - any above 25 look like the below image with no name and 'null' on the note name. Not fit for Logic's supposed streamlined easy to use software. These are but a few of the annoyances and un logical ways the drum machine designer has been designed. Ive been an avid user of logic for years and am a professional beat maker, but am now finally considering packing in this software. DMD has really let me down and in 10.4 its even glitchier than ever. Sorry to rant but im just surprised others aren't also complaining about this largely useless part of Logic 10.4. Does anyone else out there agree with me... or am i just going crazy..?!
  10. DMD no longer has option to create track on right click of cell. Can I confirm this with others?
  11. Really hope this gets fixed for next update. a no brainier right? Any workarounds in the meantime? other than using an ipad / Logic remote....?
  12. Trying Eric's fix for this but having problems getting it to work - ive gone into the Mixer and changed the view to All but still having issue - is there something I'm missing? Thanks, Steve
  13. Thanks Jake, had a read through, confused as to why this is an issue still...Does anyone else have any ideas? not too sure what Erik means when he mentions selecting "all view" in the mixer - can't seem to get that to work...
  14. Thansk for your reply Jakob - are you totally sure about this? I swear i had it working a few weeks ago fine...is it soemthing to do with fader bank in controller assignment window or something?
