  1. It seems to only be Space Designer. I reloaded it via preferences. Other reverbs work but unfortunately not this one.
  2. Logic Pro 10.7.3 under Monterey. Might be, I'm futzing with the sound library and also relocating some convolution reverbs that I made myself. Let you know.
  3. I just changed my Imac after 8 years of editing. Now on the new Imac 2022. It seems with 16 G of memory all should be OK. Now the problem - which I never had ever before in 8 years is : - I add an acoustic via Space Designer - I tweak the EQ with the plugin For years there were 0 problems. Now some tracks have no acoustic and when I open them lo and behold Space Designer is not working at all. Workaround erase all plugins and start again Seems if I turn on Space Designer first, it stays (most of the time). It seems also if I don't tweak the EQ it also stays. Also, I get a lot of "pizzas" which I never ever got before while bouncing. Not enough memory? Why? Never ever before.
  4. In fact, I always manually edit the crossfades. I spend a long time finding the correct spot for the editing also. Been doing it this way since... 2014. Also, I'm editing baroque music, so it is probably a lot easier than pop or rock or whatever. So funny that classical music that takes decades to perfect as a performer is easypeezy compared to editing pop! Just the opposite! I've sort of made peace with the fact that there is no way to do the cross fade edits in the edit window. So I'm just doing it in the main window. Works of course perfectly.
  5. Hi there all! This is not dramatic, but just ANNOYING! When I add cross-fades in comp swiping and then edit them via the edit tool (new window as we all know). I edit them in this window as of course it presents them in a more concise easier for the brain without all the folder of takes. I know it is very possible and I do often edit them directly in the main window. *BUT* I prefer the edit window. So = 1 - I stretch one of the cross-fades 2 - The edit tool's color changes from light blue to dark blue 3 - All the cross-fades are not accessible in the edit tool window *SO* I have to click on the track compilation in the upper window to make them reappear. Any way to not have this happen systematically? Or just accept the fact that it is easier in Logic to edit the cross-fades in the main window while using comp-swiping? Here is a video of what happens = Thanks for the answers!
  6. In any case David, thanks for : - your time - knowledge I now have some "new tricks" to try.
  7. No, it does not take anything out. It just leaves a gap. It's as if you had created a cut at the left edge of the Marquee selection and dragged a region corresponding to the Marquee selection. So you're left with an empty gap. If you want to move the entire take, then forget about Flex. The whole point of using Flex was to be able to move only sections of a take, not the whole take. Ok, I understand. But I what I do, with my system I immediately reject anything (bad sound, ornament, not right dynamic) and thanks to comp swiping listen to any or all of the other takes. I then edit it in. I continue in the new take until I find the next fault. So - If I understood correctly with flex I'll have to decide before how much of the new take I need to use before anything else? Is this correct? Otherwise, yes now I'll have a gap that needs to be mended. My technique the gap is before the part I want to use and therefore I can continue as long as possible. What do you think?
  8. By using the flex tool and moving take "6" to the left it took out a piece of that take corresponding to the amount of space I dragged it to the left. So it seems the only way to work around this is to select the whole take "6" each time I use the flex tool. Or any other take. I just finished a whole piece with "my method" of comp swiping and cutting out little pieces. Here is an incomplete screen shot. But will give you and idea of how many times in general and in how many various takes I search for material. Do you still think the flex tool can be as efficient?
  9. Okeydokey, I'm also have degrees in webmastering and was an Apple Developer until last year. So I couldn't resist the HTML tags. Too bad, but in the future will follow the method...
  10. Weird I did the same as all the other images I posted) here if it does not show up (just edited the html tag again : https://ibb.co/dWSrQnV
  11. Hello there, I've just started to try the flex option. I did as you did, in the little video, used the marquee tool and then using the little hand moved a bit to line it up from one take to another. Now, and correct me if I'm wrong, this will not work, as you can see by my image it leaves a gap after the bit I moved over. It seems it would be overly cumbersome to have to select the whole track each time I wanted to move a piece. My method by cutting out little pieces seems more efficient. The only problem is if I want to rescind on the whole editing process, sometimes over 30 or more edits I have to do that individually. Is there something I did not got correct for the flex option? Thanks in advance.
  12. I use a similar workflow for rock music that is not recorded to a click, though as I'm comping multitrack band performances I'll lay out the takes sequentially on the timeline and comp to a "master take" at the start of the timeline. This is the same workflow I'd use editing a multitrack analog master, so it's comfortable for my particular brain. The problems @marais is running into are solved by source-destination editing (aka "2/3/4-point editing") used in Pyramix, Sequoia, and other DAWs is so prevalent in the classical recording world. That said, I have learned so much about Logic's editing capabilities from this thread. Thank you all! Thanks for the info. I used Reaper years ago when I was recording on a PC and then of course Audacity. Logic X does have so many qualities but this may be one of its defaults. Tomorrow I will give the flex time a shot, I've used it of course before to slow or speed things up. I will quickly see if it deforms the takes as often I'll jump back and forth to them so I need them all to stay perfectly in time and not be "bent out of shape".
  13. Hey David, Thanks again! I have one last piece and tomorrow I'll try it your way. Yes, there are many solutions for the same job. As I run my own label I spend hours, days, weeks getting it correct. Make even ridiculous edits like a thirty-second note (just for the fun of being able to do it). For the time being, I've never gone back on one of my edits, and I always work on a backup copy so the original is left unscathed. It just for peace of mind to know if there is an easy way to undo all without having to resort to Logic's previous version and maybe really make a big mess. Here if you'd like another piece recently recorded from 1620-30 England. One of Charles 1 greatest composers and I think one of the greatest before Purcell.
