  1. current settings: so, in Audio column does not offer something like "do nothing" or whatever. Also, why would logic consider it overlapping when I stop then restart recording? Cant you tell logic to make it not overlapping?
  2. So as seen in pics, while tracking...if i hit stop and playhead stops at end of region... then i hit record again Logic creates new tracks. I want to keep recording on same track (s)
  3. Thanks yeah i bought an Oxygen Pro and while it is sort of cool in terms of some plug n play features the semi weighted is not super great and the companion software seemed glitchy. M-audio also has weak support pages (links that go to dead pages) so the whole package doesn't add up for me. I will keep using the Oxygen for now. Last keyboard i really loved with my old motif 88 but way to heavy and dont need all the outboard sounds anymore.
  4. I have a Oxygen 61 IV and in Logic there is no auto config as controller. Does anyone know of another brand that does do auto-config in Logic such that the knob and fader are useful without tons of setup time? I am looking at buying a new controller and have been a huge fan of the Oxygen anyway so looking for other options.
  5. update to Sonoma today - it fixed issue so far...keeping fingers crossed
  6. I did that as well...I will keep testing various see how it goes. I might also update to Sonoma today just to see if it fixes issues
  7. This happens outside of Logic but in Logic as well. In Logic. no, I do not get a notification from Logic that the number of MIDI inputs has changed...even though I have my notifications turned on for Logic Pro. In this case rescan would not apply because device still appears in Audio MIDI Setup plus once connection lost running the test fails until power cycle. Only either pressing RESET MIDI DRIVERS in prefs and it starts working without power cycling, or power cycling. I just reached out to Anker but doubt I am overloading the 60W Data Hub since issue persisted even with no hub and i dont have tons of stuff plugged into it. As seen in image all i have on hub is a couple thumb drives. I just ordered another controller to test wont be here for a week though. I would try powering the Oxygen put it has no power supply option
  8. That didn't do anything. i have ran this setup for close to a year with no issues not sure what happened. Thinking about getting a different MIDI controller but not sure that will do anything. something i don't understand, no matter which USB ports I use, all devices show up on one bus, is that normal? I am using the Anker 10 Port 60W Data Hub with 7 USB 3.0 Ports and 3 PowerIQ Charging Ports for MacBook, Mac Pro/Mini hub but problem persisted even when i removed it.
  9. M-Audio Oxygen loosing MIDI communication- worked fine till yesterday. M-Audio Oxygen 61 (a basic MIDI controller to play e.g. EZKEYS etc) losing USB MIDI communication on desktop no DAW. However, also does the same in Logic. In Logic I can choose RESET MIDI DRIVERS in prefs and it started working without power cycling. but then it lost communication again. Also the reference of folder of MIDI drivers is empty. turn it on and it plays exzkeys in oS x. already tried other cords and various ports after a few minutes it stops sending controller data/signal to exzkeys (or any VI) > power cycle works again - but then does the same. I contacted M-Audio and they could not confirm what issue is since as I told them it is not happening on my other iMac - i can plug the same controller into my other iMac and it works fine. all they gave me was link to: MacOS MIDI Monitor Walkthrough I tried running the Snoize MIDI monitor test but was unremarkable in the test, it was working so last recorded data at 11:52. i stopped playing for a couple min and tried to play at 12:20 and it lost connection and so MIDI monitor showed no data.
  10. your right, I did find I can hold Option while selecting MIDI to avoid auto creation of instrument though.
  11. any way to tell Logic to only load Kontact when importing MIDI files?
  12. When using Flex Pitch. If I have Flex Pitch on > Correct pitch on Region > turn Flex Pitch off via Show/ Hide Flex ....Does what i did in Flex Pitch stay processed?
  13. So I am trying to create template and want to setup a Summing Folder named MIDI that holds other sub summing folders for BASS, KEYS ect (instrument tracks in summing folders) I have tried a few approaches and it got messy and not as expected. I would expect a Summing Folder to have a Bus and a VCA but I am missing some aspect of correct setup. At this point I have what you see in the image and some of those VCA only show up in ALL view. plus if i try to change assignment from the dropdown on e.g. BASS I get spinning beachball. I want VCA for each sub Summing Folder and also for the MIDI Summing Folder that holds the sub folders. And want the VCAs to appear in Tracks view. Is the only way Logic will do it is with that auto created dropdown?
  14. "Sometimes you want a mono to stereo plugin" Is m->s the same resource use as stereo?
  15. So I dont get why I would ever use Mono or Mono to Stereo in Logic? In Pro Tools I understood the reasons but Logic seems to not matter if I just put Stereo Version on every instance?
