  1. I agree with all of this. I have a monthly plan for pro tools solely because I need it for some projects. I do everything in logic, export stems, build the project in pro tools because some sound houses will only work with pro tools. I know it’s the industry standard but I can’t figure out why. Is it the industry standard because it’s the industry standard? I do find it confusing. But to be fair anytime some people are taken out of their work flow it’s a learning curve.
  2. I really think every DAW has its own level of complexity. As far as recording, Logic, like every other DAW, is straight forward. Press record, press stop The fact that Logic comes with so many synths, effects, samplers, etc makes it a no brainer. Especially for $299 (with free upgrades) Apple figured out you can charge more for the hardware (which you can’t pirate) and less for the software making it pointless to pirate. (I’m sure some still do) Logic being an old guys DAW is just not a topic. Billie Eilish doesn’t look like she’s getting ready for Old Age Security. There is a lot to Logic when you start digging into it but as you grow as a musician/technician/producer etc Logic keeps up with you and probably a few steps ahead. If it were simpler I’m sure people would complain about that too.
  3. @David Nahmani i did. Sorry for not updating that. I just contacted my service provider and told them to whitelist all logicprohelp emails.
  4. I disagree. Yes, many posts end with pleasant banter after the problem has been solved but it's always business first. At least in the forums designed to solve user issues. There's enough forums here (The Lounge, Music Showcase, Composition and Creativity) where chatting is more appropriate.
  5. Spot on. Recording an audio guitar track with a drum beat and bass etc (where I started) was easy for a beginner like me. I realized pretty quickly there was no end as far as learning Logic. @David Nahmani you’re exactly right (obviously 🤣) with Alchemy. Four possible samples that can be added granular, additive, etc. is endless. Factor in that you can right click on any parameter and link it to any MSEG, sequencer, LFO, etc boggles the mind. @globetwhen I first realized Logic had no end in sight as far as possibilities my game plan was (and still is) to learn one new thing in Logic every session. You’ll be surprised how fast you amass Logic knowledge and experience. The other option is to use what you need for each session and don’t think about how much there is to the program. It’s your DAW to record YOUR music, not something you have to know everything about. Being a ‘completist’ and trying to know everything isn’t going to happen. (I’m not saying that’s what you’re trying to do). Take what you need for each session, learn something new, check out one or two YouTubers that know what they’re talking about, not every YouTuber. and the biggest safety net, for me at least, is this forum. Other than one other (home automation) forum I can think of, this forum has the fastest response, best advice, and nicest most patient help. just my two cents that now looks like a buck-o-five. Drew
  6. I’m so glad you said this. I had the video in my ‘to watch’ pile forever. I saw the length of the video and decided to wait. Then tried a few times to watch it. ‘a video in need of an editor’ I haven’t tried it with other company’s guitar plug-ins, and I’m assuming this information is based on the neural DSP plug-ins.
  7. I haven’t. I assumed I would get crickets from them. I doubted they would see a problem as their app works fine.
  8. If this is the wrong forum I apologize. Life never been happy with guitar sounds with my Neural DSP plugins. This tip has made my sounds better just putting it here I. Hopes it helps someone else.
  9. Thanks for telling us that. I was looking at my producers pack and wondered why I didn't have it
  10. I have a few plugins for guitar sounds, Neural DSP, Nembrini, etc. I was just playing around and open the d Blink App on my mac. My guitar sounds became weaker and drier like there was less signal going into the computer. I had to unplug the Scarlett to reset it. Again, not a big deal. Clearly the fix is to not open the Blink App. Just thought I'd post this here.
  11. I like it. It's got a retro feel and the vocalist has a great voice. Not trying to sound like everyone else
  12. Still, I’m guilty of forgetting to update. Probably a good idea is to have an update date. like iMac xxx scarlettxxx Logic Pro 10.8.1 Feb 2024 just a thought.
  13. Maybe it’ll get fixed in the next OS update then. It’s not a pita, just something I noticed and didn’t want it to be just me.
  14. I've searched the forum and didn't see this mentioned yet. (if it has apologizes, I'm not usually the first person to find these) I have a second monitor (Samsung) and I find when I have instrument GUIs on the second monitor and I click a drop down menu one of two things happen. Either the menu doesn't appear at all and I have to drag the window to the iMac screen or in the case of some instruments (randomly with EW Opus) the drop down menu is still orphaned on the first screen. Has anyone else found this on their system? Drew
