  1. Hello, I'm using a MacBookPro running Yosemite OS X 10.10 and want to buy MAINSTAGE, but the Apple specs say it's only compatible with OS X 10.13 and higher. I need to keep my MacBook on OS X 10.10 as it's running an old M-Audio Fast Track Ultra interface, which isn't compatible with any OS X above 10.10. In my main studio I run more recent gear, but have no real need or desire to change the MacBook system...it would mean buying a different interface, which I can't afford and don't really need. Where can I buy an older version of MAINSTAGE that is official...ie: not a crack. I like to be official. I've searched around online but every search string just comes up with Mainstage 2020-Latest etc or forum threads for Mainstage / Yosemite from 5 or 6 years ago, which don't actually have links to a buy site. Also, I have LPX installed on the MacBook, so do I also need to download-install ALL of the Mainstage content, or is this flexible?..assuming of course that I can get an older version of MS. I hope there is a place to buy this...I want it...I need it...I am in Lockdown...Hhaaa
  2. Thanks David. I'll check that out and post results. I don't hear it when Logic is stopped, only when recording and during playback if soft-track is hi-lighted.
  3. Hello LPX Users, About 90% of the time when I select a track in LPX 10.2.1 to record MIDI via and Xtrnl USB device such as a Keyboard or my Alesis DM10 DrumKit, I get a lot of 'static' or 'crackle' noise which is very off-putting to a performance. This can also happen in playback mode, if the 'soft track' happens to be selected. If I select an Audio track instead, meaning that the 'soft' track (which has already been recorded to) is not hi-lighted, the noise disappears. I thought it may have been a glitch with my Behringer Zenyx UFX1604, which I use as a D/A converter to get Mic/Line Audio into LPX, but not for anything to do with MIDI or USB, as it doesn't have either of these facilities for input (only for connecting to my iMac via Firewire). This was happening on my older iMac, which has since been replaced with a newer iMac, so I imagine it's nothing to do with my computer either. Can anyone help out with possible cause/solutions etc for this irritation? All ideas gratefully appreciated. Cheers...Victor
  4. Ok, I found this link and shall work through and hopefully have resolution. http://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/knowledge-base/show/500/how-to-move-native-instruments-software-or-libraries-to-another-location-on-the-computer/
  5. Thanks for the link Triplets. In the video, he is installing Komplete Ultimate from what I assume to be the 'USB Drive' that it is shipped in. That process appears quite straight forward. My situation is that I have 'Komplete 10 DL' already downloaded & installed to my SSD Drive. As yet, I haven't purchased Komplete Ultimate. If I were to use the method described in the YouTube video, does it mean I need to uninstall Komplete from the SSD first, then re-download in it's entirety, and during that process use the path-structure he is demonstrating? Apologies if I appear rather dumb with this, but so many paths etc is all fairly new territory for me, as is the OSX / Mac system of 'Aliases'. Although I've worked/ written a lot in the (distant?) past with Midi / SoftInstruments etc, for quite a while I've basically been using LPX, and before that Pro Tools, as literally Virtual Tape: ie I go into a full studio to lay down a 'Live' band / Drums etc, and then load the Wavs into whatever DAW for further development. At the moment, I'm not actually wanting to download any new, large suites etc, but merely reorganise (to my External HDD) what I already have. Thanks again...
  6. Hello, Recently I upgraded to El Capitan-OSX-10.11.3 I experienced several issues with this upgrade, which now seem to be resolved. Part of the initial upgrade issues were apparently due to my iMac having 2 drives, one an SSD and the other a DATA-HD. Although I am relatively experienced in the use of DAW software, I’m certainly no computer technician. When working on any Project, I record/save everything direct to a 2 T.Byte Seagate External powered Drive. I’m planning to work through LPX tutorials in order to setup a few Templates, each designed for various Project scenarios that I’ll be writing / recording in. I want to do this so I have a better Work Flow for each setup. Before I go through and make these new template setups etc, I need to know that I have all my Software suites installed to the best available HD. Suites include Logic Pro X 10.2.1, Native Instruments ‘Komplete 10 DL’, Akai MPC Renaissance (with Expansions), Akai Advance 61 with VIP (includes Expansions) and some other similar plug/suites,. There are a few ‘instrument/sounds’ from the Logic Pro X sound library that aren’t yet installed, and when I went to download / install them, I got a message saying I don’t have enough Disc space to do so. This lead me to investigate, as I thought that I had plenty of drive space available. As can be seen by the attached Screenshots, my SSD is basically Full, while the DATA-HD has nearly a full TeraByte of free space. My Question is this ~ Is it possible to, (and/or should I) relocate my entire LPX sound Library, and all of my other Software Suites (as listed above) to the DATA-HD in order to allow me to install future Software Suites? If it is possible, and recommended, which parts of each Suite (LPX, MPC, Komplete etc) should be relocated, and which, if any, should remain on the SSD drive? I looked at some results from online searches, but wasn’t sure what to do, as some seem to say, within the same article, NOT to relocate, BUT to relocate Sounds. I’m sure there is a way to resolve this, and maybe I just can’t see the wood for the trees, so any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. I am willing to take the time needed to get my system setup correctly once and for all, so that I can get back to actually writing / recording / producing Music ~ That’s why we’re here isn’t it..!
  7. Yesterday I spent 9 hours (maybe more) attempting to install El Capitan. Without wasting space here, suffice to say that afyer an entire day / evening, and several Apple Support 'chat' sessions, as well as a long phone-support session, which was handled by their 'expert' section, El Capitan is still not fully installing. It has actually, on the 3rd attempt, installed per se, but has completely wiped out my entire LPX content etc, and automatically went to download the content when I initially tried to launch LPX. The 'install' sessions also seem to have wiped my Kontakt settings, ( i tried opening Kontakt in stand-alone) and is asking that I 'activate' Kontakt etc etc. Basically, at this point, it has completely disfigured my entire iMac setup, to the point where my Trackpad won't function as it should, the system is not recognising my Apple ID / password, and the list goes on. At least I do have the name and contact details for the Support Tech person, so I can try to call him today to see what can be done. After having read about other people having problems in these and other forums, searches etc, I was not going to install El Capitan. I finally thought yesterday that by now, surely, the initial bugs would be sorted out. I had read of several people, who are running DAWs etc, that they were happy with this update to OSX. Now, I really think I should have stayed on my older 10.9.5 OSX. This is incredibly frustrating for a musician who basically knows how to use the programs, and is also up-skilling with newer plugins suites. I'm no computer technician, and don't understand why it is creating such major issues/errors on my reasonably good computer-based music production system. For anyone else thinking of updating OSX, I'd be very careful before initiating such procedures. Best of luck to those who have it working properly, and to those who will inevitably experience similar issues as I am currently.
  8. Hello, I'm trying to connect Logic Remote for the first time to LPX on my iMac, from iPad Mini. WiFi network is fine, but when I click on the 'Mac' symbol on iPad Mini, it has the 'circle' swirl, trying to connect, but then nothing happens. As i said, it's my first try. Is there a setting I need to configure? Thanks in advance...
  9. Hi, When I choose a 'Cycle' length in MainRuler (the Yellow bar) for cycling playback when mixing, the L + R locate points keep reverting to a prior setting, which was a selection of the entire song. I can't see why this is happening. Is this a glitch, or do I need to change something? I've never had this happen in anything until recently, and it seems to happen in more than one project. Thanks in advance for any help.
  10. I've got this sorted I think. BUT in the 'Additional Options' tab (below Show Advanced Tools) would it be best to leave the 'AUDIO Enables destructive editing etc..' Uncheced? I'm thinking that this may be safer at this stage, until I know exactly what functions it has.
